The atmosphere in the clinic is relaxed and helpful. This new technique was clearly explained, and even demonstrated. The surgery was almost painless, just a little discomfort when pressure had to be applied, and the results immediate. Within 24 hours both eyes were painfree, and my distance vision near perfect. 3 months later and my distance vision is better than 20/20 and I now have my peripheral vision back! My reading improved sharply in the first week and noticeably more after one month - no more glasses needed for work (i.e. using a computer). I had Z-Lasik to both eyes 6 weeks ago and have just been for my monthly check up. Extremely positive experience with Focus and Dave Allamby and his team. Very professional and slick set up. Procedure itself was quick and mildly disconcerting, but by no means painful. Eyes were sore initially once the meds wore off, but anaesthetic drops helped and by the evening I could watch TV comfortably. Some dryness over the first month, but now my eyes are absolutely fine and vision is excellent - 2 lines better than 20/20 (20/12 ?) I got a great deal with a discount voucher, but even without, would thoroughly recommend Focus to anyone thinking about Laser eye surgery.  More...

I underwent the Z-Kamra procedure at Focus Clinics a couple of months ago and it has far exceeded all my expectations. I had the combination of the insertion of the Kamra Inlay to deal with my presbyopia (reading vision) and laser correction for my myopia (short sight). I now have a near vision of J1 (the bottom line of the reading chart) and see 20/12 (I’m told that’s better than 20/20). The care, dedication and expertise before, during and after the procedure have been exceptional. I am most grateful to Mr Allamby and the Focus team. I had my surgery only yesterday afternoon and today, at my 1st check-up, I have better than 20:20 vision! The surgery itself was uncomfortable but not agony and was over in less than 10 minutes. Immediately after I could see brilliantly! I did have a fair amount of stinging and watering but after taking everyone's advice to have a nap when I got home, after only 1.5 hours of sleep they were dramatically better. And today? Well, it feels like I have a pair of dry lenses in, and even that feeling is diminishing as the hours pass. But best of all, everything is crystal clear! I'm absolutely delighted with the results. My vision was perfect within an hour of leaving the clinic. I'm generally a bit of a wimp and so was very nervous about surgery but everyone put me at ease and it was over in a flash (8 minutes). It was not painful although it was a bit uncomfortable. Everyone was very friendly and professional and made me feel relaxed and the level of personal attention was great. I felt like an individual unlike so many other health care experiences. It's an excellent clinic to do an eye surgery. I had -6.5 both eyes. Went to Optimax before, but their intralase lazer broke 15 mins before my surgery. At Focus they have an excellent customer service, was very pleased with a professional surgeon who made me feel relaxed and I could see better than 20:20 in 10 mins after the surgery! The people at Focus are just beyond accomodating, really great staff. I wasn't nervous about the procedure, probably should have been, but if I was then the service and kind staff would have been enough to put me at my ease. The procedure is quick and painless - a little stressful (as eye surgery would be no matter where you get it done) but certainly no pain. The whole experience was short and smooth. I had been thinking about it for a long time and its the best decision I ever made. The surgery itself was over in total in 20 mins. The next few days after surgery I felt like it was Christmas every day with my new eyes!! I can't recommend it enough for anyone who, like me, hated the inconvenience of glasses and lenses. I had Z-LASIK vision correction done at FOCUS. I have to say from start to finish and the current follow up checks to date the experience and results are - without a doubt - absolutely amazing. I went from -4.00 and -3.75 with astigmatism to 20/16 vision!!! Credit to my surgeon Dr David Allamby and his professional team involved. This was a truly excellent experience. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The procedure, while understandably mildly uncomfortable, was the best it could have been. The outcome was perfect, I went from -4.25 in both eyes to 20/16 vision with minimal recovery time. The price I posted (£1599) reflects the same groupon deal some other reviewers had. I had been considering it for some time so when the groupon deal (£1400 off) I snatched it up and decided it was time to get my eyes fixed. I booked a deal through Groupon after waiting five years to make sure my vision has stabilised. I had high astigmatism and was -6.5 so pretty short-sighted. This was a massive decision but the cost reduction of £1500 spurred me on. I was hugely impressed with the level of service, the speed at which I was able to make an appointment and have the surgery and the after-care experience. My surgeon, Dr Alanby, was very thorough and all the other staff I saw during my time were very professional. I now have great vision and genuinely think it is the best thing I have ever done. Dr. David Allamby was amazing - he answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable on the subject. He made me feel comfortable with the entire process. The day of he talked to me throughout the entire procedure letting me know what was going on. The entire thing was over in less than 10 minutes.
