The staff kept me full informed on the day of surgery. So much so, I did not feel any sense of anxiety or concern. The actual procedure was pain free and only mildly uncomfortable at worst for a few moments only. Slept for 8 hours after the procedure (apart from being woken up to have drops administered!!) and still can't believe how quick and pain free the recovery is. I now have 20/15 in one eye and 20/20 in the other. My only suggestion would be to review any possible improvement on the goggles - sleepng with them is the hardest part of the whole thing!  More...

Having very short sight (-9) and an astigmatism, I was always nervous about laser surgery. Centre for Sight examined my eyes very thoroughly and then were very open. The surgeon explained that my eyes were at the limit of what they could achieve and that depending on how the initial stage of the operation went they may only be able to correct to -1. I am very pleased with the overall result of my surgery, though slightly disappointed that my distance vision, having now settled down three months after surgery, is not as perfect as I would have liked, especially at night. However, I was warned that at my age(54)and with my high level of myopia with astygmatism it was likely that I would still need glasses for some things, especially reading. As it happens, I don't really need them for reading and all I need them for is for seeing outdoors at night, especially driving, so all in all I feel a good result has been achieved. For the first few hours after surgery i found the pain quite severe even with my eyes closed. It was more of a stinging sensation than the slight grittiness i had been told to expect. I had tissue saving laser eye surgery a month ago, and have gone from -3.75 and -4.25 to 20/20 vision in each eye, confirmed today at my one month check-up. I found the initial consultation thorough, and it was good to be able to meet Mr Daya in person and have him address my questions. The surgery itself was discomforting, but not painful, and I had a small amount of mild stinging immediately after the operation, while waiting to have my vision and flaps checked. The post-operative pain was very slight (and believe me, my pain threshold is low!), I would describe it as not as bad as the stinging you get when peeling an onion! I had tissue-saving laser eye surgery on 6 June and, 5 months later, I am absolutely delighted with the results. On the day after surgery, my long-distance vision was fantastic - I could see detail for which I would previously have needed binoculars, never mind glasses! At that stage, my close vision was quite fuzzy and I was getting a 'halo' effect around bright lights but I had been warned to expect this, so I did not panic, and within a few days it started to improve. Sheraz Daya perform Intralasik Zyoptix on both of my eyes around six weeks ago. I had been considering Lasik for some years but had been holding off due to having read about all of the possible complications potentially caused by the large size my pupils. I'm told that my pupils are 9-10mm (pre-surgery I was -5-5.5 in both eyes). I'm very happy with the current post-operative outcome: I'm better than 20:20 in both eyes. My main pre-operative concern had been halos: post-surgery halos for me are more noticeable than before, however, they make little real difference to my ability to see at night and I'm told will subside more over time. I have suffered with poor eyesight in excess of 20 years and relied solely on contact lenses for the past 15 years. I became embarrassed when wearing glasses due to the strength of the lenses. Having had the Herpes Virus three times in my right eye, the first time when I was 18, (I am now 57) I was declared a hopeless case when it came to Laser Eye Surgery. I have been considering laser surgery for a number of years and had one consultation at another practice known for accepting patients that others would turn away. They passed me for surgery and told me I had thinnish corneas but that wouldn't be a problem as I could expect a favourable outcome. Yesterday I went to Centre for Sight for a second opinion - and thank heavens I did!! I was diagnosed as having very thin corneas and that laser surgery would be very risky. Update: I had Lasik surgery on 11 June, so just over 6 weeks ago. I reported after 2 days(see further down this web-page). In that time I have had no pain, no problems, no soreness, no dryness. Just perfect sight. I followed all the after-care rules, in fact wearing the night-time goggles longer than needed. I travel a lot and it is great to be able to fly without the hassle of glasses or lenses. I have also started swimming which is great, as before it was too much trouble and/or pain. The best bit is that my biggest sport/hobby is cycling, and now so much better. I've just had my one month check-up and apparently my vision is now better than 20/20. 5 month investigation, 3 consultations it was like a case of the X files but I opted for Centre for Sight. Why? 1. I wanted a surgeon who I could meet to do the operation. 2. I wanted the procedure performed by an experienced eye surgeon just in case of any complications. 3. I recently had Wavefront surgery to correct my rare condition of a lop sided cornea and also to improve my vision. The operation was performed by Mr Daya. However Dr. Giledi was very confident that he could correct my sight, so that I would never need glasses again; a dream for me since I have needed them since I was 10. 2 days after the surgery my vision was 20/20 and it is still improving.
