My Lasik/Zyoptix treatment was carried out by Mr Daya at the Centre for Sight in East Grinstead at the beginning of December. The new Z100 Laser was used which uses software that recognises your unique iris pattern from millions of others, it is also a lot faster than the previous laser used. I have worn glasses since I was two years old and have for a long time muddled over in my mind, whether to have laser surgery or not. I could not have made a better decision. The whole procedure was handled very professionally, all the staff were very helpful, considerate and understanding throughout. As soon as the procedure was over and my eyes were tested, I noticed a dramatic difference in my vision ...

I cannot recommend the Centre for Sight highly enough. I had my shortsight corrected by Mr Daya at the beginning of December using the new Z100 laser, which is very fast and incorporates iris recognition. The former made the treatment faster than ever and the latter gave the added security that it would be impossible for anyone else's data to be mistaken for mine. The staff were extremely professional, both caring and efficient. My vision was good immediately following surgery - I was able to read the time on the clock on the wall as soon as I sat up - and it continued to improve until by the next morning I felt confident enough to drive my car I am now able for the first time in 25 years t ...

I had my surgery at the Centre for Sight in East Grinstead and it was performed by Mr Daya. My surgery was carried out using the new Z100 laser which also incorporates iris recognition. The surgery was very quick and the results immediate. I could see the difference as soon as I sat up from the bed. I slept well that night and I was able to drive the next day and have had no problems driving at night. It is amazing how well I can see now, it feels strange getting up in the morning and to be able to see out of my bedroom window without having to put my lenses in first. I would recommend the centre to anyone especially now they have the new laser. It was reassuring to have my surgery performed ...

After procrastinating about laser surgery for years I received a very favourable recommendation about the Centre For Sight from two people who had
been treated there and so, convinced that this was the best place to have surgery, I finally took the plunge. After extensive testing with an impressive array of kit and discussions with Mr Daya that further convinced me of the procedure, he recommended that I have Lasik on my left eye and
Wavefront on my right. I went ahead - and it was a revelation. From the second I stood up after the surgery to the present day I marvel at how this
has changed my life. It's been six months now and the results are truly phenomenal! My eyesight feels bionic an ...

Fantastic - from the moment of sitting up from the operating couch and realising the room around me was in sharp focus I realised my glasses days were over! Recovery was remarkably good - I slept for 5-6 hours after the procedure, and have had very little disturbance from my eyes - in fact I have to remind myself that they have been operated on! It feels totally natural without glasses and I don't miss them a bit. I would be very careful about who operated on my eyes, as a former local GP I knew that East Grinstead Eye Centre had an excellent reputation as a specialist referral centre (the place other eye specialists refer their patients) particularly corneal surgery, and that Mr Daya was th ...

I have just discovered this site. I had my eyes treated by Mr Daya over two years ago. I had -2.75 astigmatism in both eyes. Although there is still a tiny amount of residual astigmatism I had 6/4 ( 20/15) vision in both eyes one month after the surgey. I cannot recommend the Zyoptix wavefront treatment enough. Before the treatment i could hardly drive at night because oncoming headlights used to flare so much i had to brake. Since having the Zyoptix treatment I could see far better at night. also I have noticed that more people achieve 20/15 6/4 after Zyoptix treatment.

It’s been six months since my corrective surgery at the Centre for Sight after the original problem with my surgery at another clinic. Things have settled down extremely well. I still have to keep ahead of a small amount of Dry Eye but overall the result that have been achieved are more than satisfactory. A big thanks to Mr Daya and the team for all their support during this period.

I am a practising Consultant Eye Surgeon in Karachi Pakistan for the last 12 years.Though I was trained as an Eye Surgeon in England and also practised few years in England. I now practise Lasik and Phaco Surgery in Karachi. I travel extensively to keep myself updated, I was in England in July 2003 and in Munich for the Lasik Conference and would be in Los Angeles in Nov.2003, I have watched almost all the well known Lasik Surgeons in the world including Mr Daya. I am very much impressed with his competence, professionalism and honest opinions to his patient and above all "mending corneas" where surgery has gone wrong at other centres. Mr Daya is now a world known eye surgeon. May God ble ...

I had been planning on laser surgery for ages, but my family were concerned about the horror stories and were convinced I would end up blind! I knew that I would have to find the best to ensure that we all had peace of mind. I research the net, got brochures from the “high street” clinics and talked to people who had been treated. I knew when I had found the best!
The very high standards at the Centre for Sight were obvious, and it is also located within a specialist eye centre, The Corneo Plastics Unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Trust, which has a great reputation nationally.
I received a very thorough examination, using the latest equipment. My left eyeball has had a horrible rh ...

As a doctor I was very careful to select where I had my procedure performed. I reckoned that a hospital that treats diseases of the cornea must have a healthy respect for it. I wanted to know success rate/complication rates etc. I asked how many ophthalmologists had been operated on. These are the important questions! I could see about 6/60 6/36 prior to the procedure and now have 6/3 6/4 vision! Amazing! With the Zywave I have no distortion or haze and great night vision. I was able to go in to work the day after the procedure and drove to my check up that evening. I have just completed my last check up and apart from mild dryness which is improving monthly I have been impressed and amazed ...

I received first-class treatment from Centre for Sight, who were able to correct my severe short-sight and astigmatism with near-perfect results (I had been turned down by Ultralase who told me, incorrectly, that because they would not be able to do a perfect job I would be left with vision that was not correctable with glasses). I was realistic that perfection was not possible, due to insufficient corneal thickness, and the surgeon (Mr Daya) was completely honest and up-front about what could/could not be achieved. In fact he said he would not have been prepared to do the surgery if I had expected perfection, because that would not be possible. In fact my result is better than he predict ...

Having contemplated having surgery for about 8 years, I finally took the plunge on Monday. It's amazing!
I decided on the Centre for Sight after being recommened not only by a friend but also from my GP. I was advised to avoid the High Street outfits and that you get what you pay for!
I visited the centre in East Grinstead and found all of the staff the be very friendly, helpful and professional. After going through the series of tests, I then saw Mr Daya. He explained that he was sure that he was be able to significantly improve my vision, although it was very likely that I may still need glasses for driving etc. This was fine by me. I feel that I had realistic expectations. My intention ...

Further to my update of a month ago, and things seem to be progressing nicely. I had another check with Mr Daya on Monday and all previous problems are now well and truly gone. There has even been an improvement to the left eye, bringing it up to more or less 20/20. Although this comes and goes a little bit it is great news after all the previous concerns with the infection.
I don't even have to wear the gogles at night any more - hooray!! Excellent and speedy work by Mr Daya and his team has prevented a serious problem and given a pretty excellent result so far. Only another month of drops and hopefully all will be well.
It just goes to show that in the rare event that there is a problem ...

It's almost a month since my surgery so I thought I would post the promised update. I went for my consultation on April 4th in London. Apart from a few minor hiccups due Centre for Sight being in brand new premises at Queen Anne St, I was treated extremely well and professionally. Mr Daya allowed me plenty of time for any questions, even with a full waiting room. Make sure you have specific queries though or else it makes it pretty hard to give specific answers! Up to this stage I had been more nervous about being allowed to do Lasik than the actual surgery and phew!!, I was suitable - especially so for Zyoptix due to eye aberrations and hence was all set for the surgery the next day. (A be ...

I had LASIK on both eye's on the 22nd of March under Mr Daya, following two failed attempts with another clinic. I was very, very, very nervous as I found the first two procedures very painful and left me bruised for at least a week. The atmosphere at East Grinstead (Royal Vic) was professional, relaxed and welcoming. The whole team where fantastic - a special thankyou to Rose who identified I was nervous and held my hand throughout the procedure (sorry if I broke any fingers!).I am a nurse myself and expect a certain standard of nursing care, this was surpassed. Mr Daya although frustrated with my constant moving (which I was unaware I was doing) has an easy and friendly bed side manner, wh ...

I had the left eye done first, and the right one done 2 1/2 weeks later with Zyoptix. I'd done loads of research about it and where was best, and there was only one place really that had a perfect score from this forum - The Centre For Sight with Mr Daya.
The reason that I went for Zyoptix was that it tends to produce a better night vision result compared to the standard LASIK, and this was a high priority for me. My higher order abberrations also were border line for zyoptix which swung it for me.
Initially there are halo's around lights at night, but they have faded quite markedly after 3 weeks (it takes about 6 weeks to settle) in the left eye, so I'm just waiting for the right eye to f ...

I visited Mr Daya at The Centre for Sight after the surgery performed by my original clinic failed to provide the results promised in their glossy brochure. I cannot fault the customer service, surgeon or indeed the post-surgery care provided by the original clinic as they at all times gave me their utmost attention and worked with me to find a solution to my problems. The Centre for Sight took up the challenge and provided me with an un-rivalled level of service which I have no problem commending to all. Although I am not out of the woods yet I would still like to extend a big thank you to The Centre for Sight & the support staff in general, and Mr Sheraz Daya in particular, for the care an ...

I visited the Centre for Sight for a consultation after having already been to ACCUVISION. Sadly, I was very disappointed by the Centre for Sight. There were many patients waiting and it felt like we were on a conveyor belt going through thesystem(for which we were paying £(% a head!) All the staff were very friendly but a different person did each different test so there was no constant person to develop a rapport with and to answer all my questions. Several of the personnel did not know the answers to my questions and referred me to Mr. Daya. When I finally saw Mr. Daya he was very charming but avoided answering any of the questions I had about the technology he was using by saying that I ...

I had Zyoptix a week ago and am absolutely delighted with the result. I have driving standard vision and this was apparent already on the way home! I was very nervous at the start of the surgery, but had complete confidence in Mr.Daya and his team. The surgery was a bit uncomfortable but not painful and I would do it again! I did shop around and am glad that I did. I also looked up a lot of websites. I had Zyoptix because of "high order abberations" which I didn't know I had until I saw Mr.Daya. These have now significantly reduced as I saw on the pictures at my first follow-up appointment . I was a bit apprehensive about having Wavefront because it is so new, but Mr. Daya's wealth of expe ...

I was treated by Mr Daya 48 hours ago and am thrilled with the results. Having worn glasses or contact lenses for over 34 years (since the age of 7) it seems as though I have witnessed a miracle. The treatment was not painful at all and an hour later I had driving standard vision. I returned to work today and feel fine - no discomfort. I guess I am very lucky but also I have complete faith in Mr Daya and the team at the centre for sight. I cannot recommend them enough and am happy to share my experiences by e-mail.

I had my treatment on Monday 17.02.03. Stunning!
The treatment was pretty much as efficiently implemented as the Consultation I had on the 30th Jan. It was a busy day, and seemed a little disorganised from the outsiders viewpoint, probably due to the recent press, things looked busier than ever as more sensible people had followed the advice of Mr Daya. (Watchdog). The pre-surgery and surgery itself took only a few minutes. After my pre-med/surgery drops and pills I waited just over 40 minutes to be treated, a bit long, and I think my Diazepam was wearing off!
But it was totally worthwhile, and very professionally executed. Likewise for the follow up the next day. I'm just waiting to go fo ...

After many months of research I have chosen Centre for Sight and Mr Daya for my Lasik surgery. I am booked in for April but thought it would be of interest in the light of recent national media attention about the dangers of Lasik to mention last weeks Watchdog. The program highlighted a number of cases of patients at High St stores with problems, but went on to interview Mr Daya as the consultant whom Watchdog had chosen to support their piece and how he was doing corrective surgery to fix the mistakes of other companies. A very encouraging and telling example of why I have chosen him. I intend to write again with my experiences after surgery but I thought the above was worthy of note to th ...

I have waited nearly 3 months to post this review as a knee jerk reaction to what is life changing/life enhancing surgery, is inappropriate. However, my views remain the same now as they were about 48 hours after surgery! It is the combination of surgeon + team + the "best" equipment which makes for a successful outcome; this winning combination is indeed present at Centre for Sight, East Grinstead. I was reassured by the way in which I was dealt with prior to surgery, on the day itself and also by the post-operative check-ups which will be on-going for some time. Just 48 hours after surgery, my vision was everything I had hoped for. Only reading a pc screen took a little longer to settle i ...

Had LASIK performed 20 Jan 2003. My prescription was about –6 in both eyes with –0.5 astigmatism. Pupil size about 7mm.
I referred myself after lots of research and a couple of visits to other clinics. I’d been thinking about it since about 1998 (when I first heard about ‘flap and zap’).
Considered Wavefront (Zyoptix) and had long discussion with Mr Daya about pros and cons. It seems that the re-treatment rates are much higher with Wavefront and that Centre for Sight are carrying out very few of these treatments now because the results without it are so good. I had the Wavefront measurements taken but turned out to have only very slight aberrations ...

Just had Lasik performed by Mr Daya, I now have 20/15 vision in both eyes which is fantastic.
No discomfort during operation at all and it's over before you know it. It's more money but not one person including myself thought that was an issue once you've been treated by Mr Daya. Having one of the countries leading surgeons treating you was pretty re-assuring I have to say.
The next day I was up and about and back to normal save a few eye drops throughout the day.
They do look after you here, the fact that surgeries elsewhere that go wrong get referred to Mr Daya tells you just about all you need to know.
