I previously had -6.5 in both eyes and went in for the Wavefront LASEK as recommended by Mr Pillai due to my large pupil size. The worst part of the treatment was probably the bandage lens as it is slightly annoying, but there was no pain. 5 days after the treatment I was driving and seeing without the need for glasses or contacts and had excellent vision. My eyes were both about 7.5 diopter before the surgery. Straight after surgery I became 20/40 driving standards and it has been getting better ever since. In was amazed at the results and feel it’s a miracle. For 18 years I have been short sighted but not anymore. I feel like a new person. The doctors/nurses were excellent. Wavefront LASEK not particularly nice but it was the only way I could correct because of large pupil size/ high prescription. It has now been over two years since surgery, and my eyes are still great. I had Wavefront Lasek at AVC nearly 2 weeks ago. This was recommended due to my thin corneas and large pupils. Without the vital advise offered to me by Mr Pillai in my consultation eith him, I would not have undergone corrective eye surgery. He was honest enough to acknowledge that the laser procedures he performs might not offer the best result & that instead, having lens implants would be the best solutionfor myself. I have already written a testimonial about this clinic, but now its gotton better. In short I had Lasik 2.5 years ago; one eye came out good the other bad. A flap lift and enhancement still did not help too much. The clinic was taken over by the eye clinic, who did not seem to bothered about my complaint and declared my eye good. Optimax put the phone down on me, and Intralase did all the tests and told me to go away. I was unable to wear contacts and went back to glasses. This should of been the most tense experience of my life but thanks to the amazing team at Advance Visioncare I can honestly say that I was happy & relaxed from the moment I arrived & the time I Left. Having worn contact lenses (gas perm) for 20 years I didn't feel I was getting the best vision from them-they were constantly clounding up & moving. Many consultants would not consider laser correction on my prescription. +5.50/-3.50 x 15 (r) +5.75/-3.50 x 172 (L) however Dr Pillai was ever confident. He gave me realistic expectation of how well he could improve my vision & throughout the consultation and treatment he took personnal interest in me. The correction was considered quite a challenge and whilst the surgery was quite uncomfortable it was for a short period of time & the results are fantastic-no need for lenses or glasses anymore. My case was somewhat unusal as I had a complication with the flap on my left eye. My right eye was a complete sucess which meant vision was a little odd whilist I waited for the second operation 8 weeks laster. From this point of view, i would recommend that if at all possible, clients should have both eyes done at the same time. I have ocular albinism, nystagmus (eyes oscillatiing all the time) and high astigmatism and did not think that I would be able to drive with out glasses. My prescription was around – 5.5 and astigmatism around –4. Now six weeks after surgery it is –0.5. I am extremely pleased with result s and surprised how quick and painless the operation was and within hours, my slight was almost as good as with my glasses. Very Efficent and considerate. My surgerey has not yet finally worked. One eye was initially over corrective to slight long sight, then after a second operation it was over corrected the other way & a bit short sighted. I had Wavefront laser eye surgery with Advance Visicn Care 2 months ago. Throughout the whole process including the initial consultation, surgery and post-opeartive check-ups the standard of care and the level of information given was excellent. My eyes have gone from a prescription of -7.5 to 20:20 vision and I can now see better than I ever did with contact lenses. The only side-effect was a slight blurriness for one day following surgery and ever since then my vision has been perfect. I have an extremely high prescription-10.00 both eyes, with an astigmatism and thin corneas as well. The care and treatment I received with Mr Pillai was first class.
