I researched Lasik Surgery thoroughly and have been patiently waiting for the right service to suit me, after wearing contact lenses for more than 30 years. Accuvision Solihull arranged the suitablility tests on the morning of 26.07.07 and 1 had the surgery an hour later, by my request, because I find the waiting is the worst.

The results are brilliant. My dominant eye is now better than 20/20, before it was -4. My left eye has not been fully corrected - this way I have perfect vision close up! I very quickly got use to the separate strengths of vision in my eyes and it means I don't have to wear reading glasses. Also I am lucky because I had dry eyes before surgery - I know its only been 5 weeks, but I have great vision and no dry eyes!

Solihull has specific days when surgery is carried out, so several clients are in the waiting room together. I found it reassuring to see others return from surgery (less than 5 minutes) and wait until they were recalled for their final check before returning home. There were clients there who had had surgery the day before, the week before and the month before. You could guess which was which by the width of their smiles!

YES, our eyes are so sensitive any thought of something touching them, never mind a laser, is a bit frightening! You have to have total trust in the clinic you choose.

My Accuvision surgeon was great, precise and positive. He talked me through the whole 5 minutes I was with him. It didn't hurt at all - Course I was frightened, there was this red light and a funny smell and 10 seconds of slight pressure! But you know, when he said "That's great, now we'll do the other eye." I felt, 'That was a piece of cake" I can do this!

I was thanked for trusting the surgeon with my eyes.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these guys to any of my clients, friends or family. They are professional in their care, ABILITY and concern of all their clients. Don't forget, of course the surgery is of vital importance, but it goes hand in hand with the honesty of what can and cannot be achieved, what the consequences are likely to be and the aftercare programme.

In time, and I hope its a long time - my eyes will naturally need reading glasses and unfortunately surgery cannot correct this. When this happens I won't hesitate to return to Accuvision to fully correct my left eye so that I will have 20/20 long sight. I hope all the Solihull staff will still be there then... you can't improve on perfection.
