I did a lot of research into different companies in my area (Midlands) and also read a lot of reviews on this website. I found the larger companies quite impersonal and persistent which put me off and I wasn't lured by their offers. I originally went to Accuvision for a consultation in July 2007. I was seen by Nick Dash who did various tests and explained that I had thin corneas so needed Trans-Epi treatment which he explained with the risks involved and that the recovery time would be longer. I found Nick and the staff at the Solihull Clinic very professional and decided not to go to any other clinics. It took me several months for me to take the plunge, after a lot of thinking and with no pressure from Accuvision. I made an appointment in March to have my surgery in April.
On the day, I had a few more test to make sure there were no changes as it had been a while since the consultation. Everyone was very helpful (Nick, Vic & Surgeon) and reassuring. The surgery was amazingly quick and pain free. My eyes were checked before I could leave. I was given eye drops to put in regularly and painkillers. The first 48 hours my eyes were very sensitive so I had to wear sunglasses in the house and they took a few days to settle. The first 24 hours were the worst as they were watery and very painful. The eye drops really helped and I put them in religiously! I had a 24 hour, week, month and now a 3 month check. Within a week I could see very clearly but remembered what Nick said that in time my vision would improve even more. After my visiti in August, Nick told me my eyes were now better than 20:20 vision - 133% :) I was shown images of my eyes, before and after. I could see that the irregularities in my corneal shape had been improved giving me better quality of vision.
I have already recommended Accuvision to several people and I would not want my eyes in anyone else's hands!
My advice is not to expect clear vision in 24 hours!
