I have been looking into Laser Surgery for a couple of years. I finally plucked up courage and went to consultation. The consultation process was extremely thorough and all questions were well answered.
A week later I found myself about to enter surgery. The procedure itslef is absolutely nothing to worry about. I felt slight pressure to my eyes and that was all. No pain. All staff kept me informed throughout and the procedure was over before I knew it. I walked into the waiting area able to see my Dad at the other end of the room unaided by specs. Absolutely fantastic.
My prescription was -3.50 and -3.75 inclusive of astigmatism. I am now six weeks post op and I have better than 20:20 vision with a slight astigmatism of -0.25 in my left eye. I've been told by Mike that this will get better with healing. I have no reason to disbelieve him or Accuvision as everything they have told me has turned out to be true.
I experienced a slower return to excellent vision than other people it would seem. This may have someting to do with the wearing of bandage lenses for 24hrs after but is more likely to be just the rate at which my eyes heal ! Everyone is different. I have gone through moments of concern and uneasiness after the surgery but my concerns were always answered informatively by Accuvision at all times. Your vision does fluctuate and you may have moments of panis where you think "My God why did I do this" but be patient as the results are astounding and to be free of vision aids is amazing.
My eyes had a reaction to the artificial tears and so I heeded the advice in some of the comments before these and bought some Liquifilm tears without preservative. My eyes improved straight away.
I personally would like to thank all staff who have been excellent throughout but especially Joan, Vikash, Mike, Daryus and Chad. All have been brilliant and the aftercare fantastic.
I can't recomment Accuvision enough and am busily passing on their details to a wealth or friends and colleagues. Thanks Accuvision.
