I've just been for my check-up the day after surgery. Both corneal flaps have healed back in perfect location, and my vision with both eyes together is already not far off 20/20. Considering only a day before I was -10 dioptre, I'm finding this a bit mind-blowing at the moment.

The procedure itself yesterday was a breeze. The preparation for surgery was done while I was lying on the laser bed, which meant I was settled when the time came. I won't say I managed to relax completely, but Darius and the team were very reassuring, talking me through the procedure throughout. There was no pain at all.

The critical thing for me was the thickness of cornea left post-op (to reduce the risk of corneal ecstasia). Even with my prescription, there is still 330 microns left in my worst eye, which is very comforting. So far I have noticed no flares, halos or the like.

I would recommend anyone with a complex prescription like mine to go and see Accuvision. I believe it was their dedication, careful deliberation and technology that made my procedure go so smoothly - I'll post in a few weeks about how my vision settles down.

All in all - they are the pups nuts! I'm very grateful to everyone there for making sure things turned out so well.
