What an outstanding experience, I cannot recommend the Accuvision team and their eyesight correction techniques highly enough. As a fairly sporty person, I had been looking over the previous 10 years to have laser eye surgery to improve my vision, which had stabilised to around -4.5D. I had looked around for the very best in laser eye surgery and after some time considering my options decided that Accuvision were the best, even though I had to travel a couple of hours to get to the London and have the consultations / surgery. I had my surgery carried out on 7.7.11. My prescription was very bad, I was very long sighted and had astigmatism. It is a miracle!! I can now see and drive and watch tv without glasses. Having worn glasses as a child and then contact lenses for 16 years, at the age of 32 I could no longer bear them in my eyes due to dryness. The expense was a large one for me, however I was never at any point pressurized into going ahead with treatment – the advice and initial consultation was all free and I felt that I would be totally safe in the surgeons hands. My name is Linda Ramsden and I have had lens implants and monovision for one year now and it's fantastic. On 18th March 2010 I had my assessment at Accuvision, Solihull, Birmingham, the assessment took about an hour. As I always wear contact lenses I had to leave these out for a week to give my eyes a rest for the assessment to be accurate. After being turned down by a high street clinic, my husband did some research on the internet and we decided to go for a consultation at Accuvision as they treated what appeared to be more complex cases. I am delighted to say that they could help. I had my consultation on 20 May 2011. I had my surgery 9 months ago now and I don't have 20/20 vision in my right eye. I've been told that it may be because it's not healing correctly, although it's been the same ever since I came out of surgery. I noticed that they corrected it less than my previous glasses prescription, so I suspect that that was the problem, but they keep ducking that explanation and not giving me a straight answer. It all just seems a bit dodgy the way I'm being 'handled' as I've complained about this and tried to understand why it has happened after I paid an awful lot of money to have 20/20 vision. Fantastic service. Booked my free consultation for March 27th and had surgery on April 13th. Kim and Simon at the Wetherby clinic were very professional and courteous. Simon did a thorough examination of my eyes and due to my high prescription ( -6.5 and -6.0 and astigmatism) he decided I should have Wavefront Lasik customised for both eyes. He explained everything very clearly and also answered my questions and completely put me at ease. At 63 years of age, you sometimes have to get up in the night to visit the smallest room in the house. As I passed the radio alarm clock, without glasses, I would have to bend down and put my face right up to it to read the time. Now, after having implants inserted, I still have to get up some nights, but to find out the time, I just have to lift my head off the pillow and look at the clock. As my great love is singing and belong to a choral society and a church choir, I was near to having to resign from both as the varifocals I was wearing were not precise enough to delineate the ledger lines, crochets and minims. I had severe short sight (-8 and -10). Also have rosacea. Worn hard contact lenses for 30 years. Hated glasses and concerned that when I get older how will I manage contact lenses. My eyes were also getting tired in the evenings with lenses. Had LASIK monovision in October. Was told that I may not get full 20/20 vision and may need low prescription lenses still and healing would take about 6 months due to high prescription. I was driving 3 days later. I had my eyes done on 29th January 2010, I was worried about the surgery and very apprehensive at the time, all my questions were answered by the Accuvision team. They re-assured me and answered every question I asked. I have to say I'm 43 yrs old and I have to say I made the best decision I've ever made in my life by having laser eye surgery!
