I had my procedure in December 2009, and I am so pleased with my sight, it is so much clearer now than when I wore glasses/contact lenses. I had been considering Laser surgery for years, done hours of research online and visited Optimax & Optical Express before contacting Accuvision at Wetherby. My prescription was -5.75 and -6.00 and I have slightly thin corneas which caused problems for Optimax & Optical Express. Visited the Fulham, London clinic, a very friendly and knowledgeable team. I was -2.50 and -2.75. With some apprehension I underwent surgery on 23 June. The rest of the day my eyes were sensitive to light, my vision a little misty, and occasionally my right eye felt a little scratchy. The eye drops supplied were very soothing and I was not in any real discomfort. The next morning, my eyes were little gunky from the contact lens 'bandages', but my vision was perfect. I had laser eye surgery 6 months ago and still wake up every day completely overawed that I can see the time on my alarm clock without having to reach for my glasses! Doing laser eye surgery was one of the best things I could have done. Im 29 but so wish I did it sooner. The team at Accuvision were great, they were clean, they explained the process to me before hand and whilst I was doing the surgery. I was able too see 5 minutes after I left the surgery. Optimax and Ultralase were very money driven and were willing too charge me £4000 for each eye. I did my surgery on 30th October 2010 and its now March 2010. Now and then my eyes do have a slight each and Im still a bit sensitive too light but otherwise I think its brilliant. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to the team at Accuvision for restoring my vision which I thought was beyond repair on one of my eyes. My prescription pre surgery was -23 in my left eye and -10 in my right eye. Due to my very high prescription the surgery which suited me best was lens implant surgery. Top marks for the whole accuvision experience! Was really impressed with the service. Went for the consultation and all my options were discussed in detail with me, pros and potential cons. I never felt pressurised into going through with the procedure but very glad I did, amazing results and definitely worth the few minutes of scariness! Had a blip the first time as machine was down and appt got cancelled, however, didn't mind too much as safety must come first. I have always found everyone at the Accuvision clinic helpful and courteous. I am very happy with the care I have received and delighted with my better than 20/20 vision! The team were fabulous. The day of the laser eye surgery was a bit scary but the procedure is over in minutes. It took a few days for the eyes to heal properly and they remained dry for about a month afterwards but the clarity of vision was excellent. My life style had changed and after much deliberating (and gathering stories from friends and family) I took the plunge for laser eye surgery: 40 years of glasses and contact lenses was more than enough! Having spent over a year checking out laser eye surgery and visiting all the main competition I settled on Accuvision in Leeds (Wetherby). I got very positive vibes about the professionalism of Accuvision and various misgivings about the others. This week I finally had my appointment with destiny. My consultation with Nick at the clinic in Solihull was excellent. By the end of the hour, I was very clear about the options available to me. There was no pressure at all; I was strongly encouraged to think everything through and to contact the clinic again if I wished to go ahead with surgery. Being significantly short sighted (-9.50!) I was dubious that have surgery would be able to correct my vision fully. After a thorough consultation my expectations were managed, they would aim for full correction but I might need some prescription afterwards. I had my surgery at the beginning of December and the thing that stays with me now was the kindness and friendliness of the surgeons and opthalmologists. I was really nervous about the procedure (for no reason, it does not hurt) and they were so nice and calm which helped me so much. The best thing about it all is that I now have 20/20 vision!
