I have always been sceptical about laser eye surgery, but decided to take the plunge with Accuvision. To be honest I was initially booked in with Optical Express but changed my mind within a week, bigger company doesn't always mean better. I took the Trans-Ephithelial surface procedure, I was impressed with the overall experience from my initial consultation to the post-ops, the service was 100% consistent and the staff were always very friendly. I had my treatment on Friday 9th October 2009. I was very nervous. I needn't have been. Just before I went into my treatment, I was fortunate enough to talk to a woman who had the treatment a few months earlier, and was visiting for a check-up. Talking to her put my mind at rest and once I decided to put myself in the hands of the experts, I relaxed. The time was approximately 3.30pm. The treatment lasted 1.14 minutes for the right eye and 1.20 minutes for the left. There was absolutely no pain and a nurse held my hand thoughout. OUTSTANDING!! I wish I'd had this done years ago. I had Wavefront Lasik for mono-vision. Although I was nervous, the team put me at ease and the procedure was over before I knew it - with no pain or discomfort. Within half an hour of the procedure I had 20/25 vision and by the next morning when I revisited, I had 20/20 vision and could read even the smallest print on the reading card! Having +4.5 & +5.5 I never thought I would be able to have my vision corrected. I also had astigmatism in both eyes.I must say it is just amazing waking up and not having to reach for the glasses. I had my surgery on 11/07/09. I had been wearing glasses for over 20 years for astigmatism - prescription: Right eye cylinder -4.25 axis 8.0. Left eye - cylinder -4.25 axis 175. I had also had to wear varifocals because reading had becoming difficult The consultation was easy and the staff were very helpful but most importantly there was no pressure selling unlike other companies. After months of research and pondering I decided to take treatment. Having been an optical express customer for the last five years, my first consultation was with them. They recommended that I am suitable for LASIK and was quoted £3000 for both eyes. My prescription was -3.75 and -4. I had read on their brochure that those that due contact sports or for armed forces that LASEK would be the preferred treatment due to the flap. I needed glasses for reading which meant they were on my face the whole time at work but this meant I couldn't see the features of people coming towards me until they were there so if anyone smiled I wouldn't know, alternatively I could look over my glasses ,either way not a very friendly look! I had Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment (T.E.S.T) laser vision correction at the end of September last year and couldn't be more pleased. I'm only 18 and so thought I might be told I had to wait another few years before I could have the treatment but as my prescription had been stable for a long time I was told I could go ahead. I had 'Trans-Epithelial Surface Laser' with monovision. I had thin corneas and so a surface procedure was safer than LASIK. Accuvision provide a very friendly, patients first service. I have a superb result with 20/20 in the distance and able to read tiny print close up and this is now a couple of years later. I could not rate this clinic any higher. The experience from beginning to end is absolutely faultless. I had laser surgery on my eyes 1 week ago and I can honestly say that the transformation is life changing. My myopia was extreme at -8.50 in both eyes. I have had no complications since the operation - no dryness, no itching and the after-care has been excellent. I had quotes from other clinics, some up to double the price of Accuvision so I was slightly dubious as to how they could offer me the same treatment for so much less money. But, there was no catch. I originally visited Accuvision to have a consultation for Laser Eye Surgery. After my consultation I discovered that I had a condition I had never heard of before called Kerataconus. I was helpfully informed of all the options, what the condition was, how it develops. The team were very patient and showed me scans and pictures, and their previous results showing that they could halt the progress only inspired confidence in me, especially as my vision staying as it was, would mean me being unable to do my job. I had my laser surgery Lasik wavefront last thursday 6th march and cannot say a bad word about the whole process i was so worried being twenty one but i could have the treatment so was so happy. It is so great to wake up and not be searching for my glasses. I have been wearing glasses since the age of 2 and was a -13 before my eyes were treated, i was starting to become intolerant to contact lenses and was running out of options which meant that i may have had to give up some hobbies. No other clinic would treat me because of my prescription until I found accuvision. It has now been 2 years and I still have excellent vision and no problems, my night vision has improved as a result. I would first love to thank Accuvision for giving me a new lease of Life. It is estimated that 160 million people have partially impaired vision on this planet. One (well known and heavily advertised) did not impress me and seemed to be concerned with the hard sell. Accuvision did impress me, but the cutting of the flap bit of Lasik put me off (I have been a Moorfields patient for many years but had never had any invasive treatment). I had my eyes treated at the Solihull clinic on 16 January. Before surgery my eyes were -5.25 and -4.50 with some astigmatism in my left eye. I don't know what my eyes were in terms of 6/6 or 20/20 type figures but I couldn't read the largest letter at the top of the eye chart. I'd been wearing glasses for 18 years and occasionally wore soft contact lenses. Chad Rostron did my surgery and I'm very pleased with the results. Hi had my yes lasered on Jan 9th 2009 with the expectation that i might have to wear glasses after the procedure because i was told my shortsightedness was on the limits of what could be done. I was -9.5 in the right and -8.5 in the left but am now glasses and contact lens-free which is a truly amazing feeling. I've had my eyes lasered successfully at Accuvision in Solihull on the 16 Jan 09. I was concerned however that i wouldn't be suitable as my short sight prescription was high, -7.50 and -8.25 with astigmatism and I've been wear hard contacts for over 30 years. Thankfully though my very bumpy corneas (looking more like a craggy mountain than a big dome) were rehabilitated on the advice of Nick Dash by wearing soft lenses for a couple of months then awful thick glasses for a week. Back in June 2008 I had an appointment at Accuvision in Fulham with the hope of having Wavefront treatment on my eyes. I was very long sighted (approx +6.5 in left eye and +3.5 in right eye). I was very disappointed to be told that I was not a suitable candidate because my corneas were too steep. I was then told that I was potentially suitable for the lens implant.
