Considering Laser Eye Surgery in the UK?, then you have reached the right place. This is because the content of this website is almost all provided by feedback from those who have already experienced Laser eye surgery in the guise of either Wavefront, Zyoptix, Lasik, Lasek or PRK eye surgery.

A Big THUMBS UP for Accuvision from me Booked in for surgery last Thursday (6/12/07, 10:00 am) and I was a tad nervous - what if it all went wrong??? No need to worry though, the team at Accuvison in Solihull went through the procedure with me again, explained what would happen, re-tested my eyes and asked me if I was sure I wanted to go ahead and if I understood the possibilities of failure and how they would correct it if they didn't get it right first time. All very re-assuring. When it came to my time for the op, they were all very friendly, talking to me all the way though it, making sure I was still breathing (!). It was the weirdest thing, having your eyelids clamped back, it ...  More...

Whilst I considered this type of treatment my main concern was that I didn't wanted to be treated like a number. There are more and more 'clinics' offering this type of treatment but rarely giving 100% customer satisfaction and good service. I needn't had worried with Accuvision. Through recommendation from a friend I took the plunge and am so glad I did. My only regret is that I should have made the decision earlier. Foggy vision at first but cleared in 1 day. (I was short sighted with an astigmatism). The 'op' (if you can call it that) doesn't hurt its just a little uncomfortable. They detail the various stages, are very friendly, but remaining professional as well. They will answe ...  More...

The team at Solihull answered all my questions and concerns. They made be feel totally at ease with the complete procedure. As a Police Officer i was worried about night time driving, but this simple and pain free procedure has been excellent. What a feeling to throw away those contact lenses and solutions. I am a pianist and musical director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, so my vision is absolutely crucial to my job. It was also an issue for me sometimes having to appear on stage without wearing glasses etc. I had considered laser surgery on and off for a number of years, but was squeamish about even wearing contacts, before deciding to take the plunge, and after doing some research opted for Accuvision in Solihull. My prescription was not too severe so I was told I would be an ideal candidate for Wavefront. I found the procedure to be totally painless and much less stressful than I was expecting. The surgeon was excellent at keeping things relaxed and letting me know what I needed to ...  More...

Can't express enough how happy I am. I never appreciated how precious sight is until I had it fully restored by Accuvision. My sight was a bit complex with a stigma and long vision but I now have almost 20/20 vision. The first day after the operation I felt like I had the sight of an eagle and realised that I had not seen properly for years through glasses. An absolute miracle and the best money I've ever spent. Highly recommend the Kings Road surgery, absolutely brilliant and a fantastic after service. My life feels like it's started over again, can't recommend this surgery enough.  More...

Mid 2006, after reading some articles, I decided that finally the time had come to get rid of my glasses ( -8/-6.5, -3/3.5 cyl) and go for laser surgery. After some research on the web I choose Accuvision in London, basically because of the very positive testimonials. The intake confirmed they were indeed thorough, professional and very pleasant. Although Joan was the first woman to call me thick, she fortunately just referred to my retinas ! So good news. And she made me reconsider my decision not to have a reading correction in one eye, for which I am still very grateful. In July I had the operation. It went faster then expected and not painful at all. Unfortunately my distance eye did ...  More...

We left any comments until our final check up so as to give the full picture. Both my wife and I had treatment last May. My wife had monovision correction (one eye for reading and one for distance) and I had my acute astigmatism corrected. Cost for both of us £3400, half the price of other quotes we had. I never believed that I would ever rid myself of glasses. We must give the staff at Accuvision 200% for their care, professionalism and total customer service. Everything was 1st class and truly exceeded our expectations. If you are thinking of having laser surgery don't look elsewhere.  More...

I had both my eyes lasered about 6 years ago with Accuvision. My prescription was -6.5 for both eyes. The service I received at Accuvision was incomparable. I had a thorough eye examination and the procedure was thoroughly explained to me. There was no hard sell at all, in fact they even encouraged me to go away and think about the operation before making a decision. On the day I was made to feel very special by all involved in my procedure especially as I was very scared, but the procedure was very quick and they talked to me all the way through the operation so I was aware of exactly what was going on. I had to go back the following day, then 1 week later then 1 month and then 6 months. Ev ...  More...

I had my surgery a week ago today and had my second post op appointment this morning. I have found Accuvision to be excellent in every way. At my consultation they were thorough, professional, positive and at no point tried to pressure me into making my mind up. I left my consultation feeling completely confident in Accuvision, so I went ahead and booked the surgery. I didn't even bother with other consultations as I trusted them completely. I was SO nervous at my surgery and my head wouldn't stop shaking throughout the procedure. However I had no reason to be so anxious. It was completely painless, just a little weird. But it is over so quickly, that you don't really have time ...  More...

Further to post a couple of days ago: well I can see to type so that must be a good thing? ! All went as planned, the team were very friendly and all introduced themselves. The procedure itself is not pleasant, don't get me wrong there is no pain at all, its just the mental thing of seeing whats happening and having no control over it,that said the staff were very re-assuring and calm and encouraged me to talk the whole time to keep my mind off it. Be warned when the eye drops wear off life is pretty uncomfortable for a good few hours.... so much so that I regretted having it done, then at about 9 pm ( procedure was at 11 am ) there was a marked improvement and I managed to sleep well th ...  More...

After years of deliberating whether to have laser eye surgery I decided enough was enough and took the plunge. I chose Accuvision in Fulham as I had only positive feedback from previous patients and I investigated the state of the art equipment used there. I was not disappointed. I was greeted upon my arrival in a very friendly manner and was seen by a professional optometrist who examined my eyes thoroughly while explaining everything in great detail making sure I understood fully the treatment I was to have - in fact I only had to have one eye operated on. On surgery day again I was treated in the most professional, hospitable way and informed of everything that was happening. After a few ...  More...

After initially being rejected for surgery I was able to take advantage of a relatively new procedure suitable for my eyes known as Topography guided Trans epithelial lasik with cross linking. This strengthens the cornea as well as improving sight. It is a procedure which lasts about half an hour and is quite uncomfortable. The following week requires a lot of rest and some painkilling relief. Vision improves slowly over a period of 6-8 weeks. My vision has improved dramatically and I only need to wear reading glasses to a strength of 1-1.5.Most of the time I don't need to wear glasses at all. I am being regularly monitored and have nothing but praise for the team at Accuvision who have d ...  More...

After wearing glasses for 22 years I finally decided to make a run for freedom. And freedom I got! I've 20/15 on each eye and bordering on 20/10 with both! The first few days after the op I had halo's and everything was a bit 'milky' but after a week it was all fine and now after a month I just have to remember to not push my glasses up all the time... I can absolutely recommend Lasik and specially AccuVision to anyone and I thank them for my newfound freedom.  More...

After years of wanting to be free of glasses, and hours of scrutinizing endless pieces of information on eye surgery, I finally took the plunge, and booked a consultation at the Solihull clinic of Accuvision... The consultation on Friday 21 September went well, the tests were extensive, and I felt at ease throughout. In the end I was told I was a perfect candidate for Wavefront Lasik eye surgery, and decided it was now or never.... The next available surgery day at Solihull was the following Tuesday, so I paid my deposit to secure a surgery time on that day. On the day, my husband and I travelled the two hours from our home in West Yorkshire. I sat in the waiting room watching others co ...  More...

Before I begin, I would like to thank the staff at Accuvision for their wonderful service, in my opinion they are second to none. Right... For those of you reading these reviews trying to decide who to pick then I can definitely vouch for Accuvision. They price their treatment accordingly and fairly whilst providing quality treatment. I am based in the North so I originally went to Leeds to see Simon Falk for my consultation. Simon was exceptionally clear and concise and answered all of my questions without any worries. After reviewing numerous websites and a number of clinics, I chose Accusvision predominantly based on friends recommendations and cost. The initial consultation was really helpful in explaining the options and risks (its easy to find this info on the web, so nothing should surprise you during the consultation). Due to the fact that I play rugby, epi-lasik was recommended, on healing its a more stable option for someone who is likely to get the odd finger or elbow in their eye! I had been keen on lasik due to the quicker healing time + less pain, but met a patient in a similar position to me some 4 weeks after his procedure, he was really positive and this convinvced me to go for epi-las ...  More...

I went to Accuvision after a friend of mine and his father had the procedure. They both had pretty poor eye sight prior to the operation, and have been very vocal about how well everything went and how well looked after they were. My own prescription pre-op was -4.5 left eye and -2.5 in the right, so the stigmatism was quite bad. The consultation was very detailed and professional. In fact, they actually found a fault with my spectacles that no one else had picked up. I had the procedure on a Friday morning and it was a very efficient, professional and friendly service. There was no discomfort post-op and my eyesight was back to the pre-op corrected level by the evening. 5 days later ...  More...

I've been thinking about having laser treatment for around 2 years. After visiting 2 other well known clinics, I found Accuvision in Solihull Birmingham to be the right one for me. It was the cheapest and they also made me feel valued rather than just a number or statistic.I felt more comfortable after the intial consultaion and confident they would look after me.I was nervous before I had the laser treatment, but the surgeons and the staff looked after me and I can't fault the service. I had surgery at Parsons Green in London. The service was quick, efficient, utterly painless and in my view excellent value for money. I wish I had it done years ago. I read in my work a lot, and use computer screens regularly. It is unbelievable what a difference this has made to my life. I have now even forgotten that I wore glasses. My main worry was the thought of someone touching my eyes. Because of the anaesthetic you do not even feel that. You are reassured throughout and the actual surgery takes seconds per eye. As soon as I came out the room (a few minutes after the surgery) I could read a TV screen graphics several feet away. It was more like witchcraft than surgery!! Alt ...  More...

I visited Accuvision in Solihull last week for my initial consultation after researching several clinics and readig all the Health Care Commision Reports. Accuvision scored very highly especially in the standard of their surgeons. I have booked surgery for September 25th. So far i am very impressed by the clinic with my only negative comment being the layout of the reception area, I did feel like I had to wander about to find reception as it was in a room off the waiting area, however I think this is down to the lack of overall space in the premises. At the end of the day though who cares about reception desks as long as they do a great job! the optomerist(?) I met with was excellent, vry th ...  More...

Review of Accuvision - Fulham Branch I always dreamt of waking up in the morning and being able to see without the aid of glasses. After wearing glasses (and contacts) for over 22 years, a chat with my Brother and Sister in law persuaded me to have the consultation. Last Friday (7th Sept), I finally plucked up the courage to have the surgery. I was quite nervous but I needn't have been as the staff throughout were professional. They relaxed me by talking to me throughout the short procedure (the actual surgery taking approximately 5 mins an eye). It was painless and after it was done I wondered why I had screwed myself up so much. The fear of the unknown I guess. Revisiting the waitin ...  More...

I researched Lasik Surgery thoroughly and have been patiently waiting for the right service to suit me, after wearing contact lenses for more than 30 years. Accuvision Solihull arranged the suitablility tests on the morning of 26.07.07 and 1 had the surgery an hour later, by my request, because I find the waiting is the worst. The results are brilliant. My dominant eye is now better than 20/20, before it was -4. My left eye has not been fully corrected - this way I have perfect vision close up! I very quickly got use to the separate strengths of vision in my eyes and it means I don't have to wear reading glasses. Also I am lucky because I had dry eyes before surgery - I know its ...  More...

I had lasik in June 2002 and I have just had an eye check up on 28th August 2007, 5 years later and I have 20/20 vision in both eyes which is wonderful. I was told after my surgery my eyes were one line better than 20/20 but that I need not worry as that is just a trace and the eyes will not flucuate any lower but every few years will go back to a line better than 20/20 and then may go back to 20/20 again but not any lower which is great so whatever happens I know I will have 20/20 vision and that the vision won't get worse. Before surgery I had very poor vision, approx -6 and -7 and even with my glasses I never had 20/20 vision, I was one line below 20/20 before the op with my glasses ...  More...

Had surgery 3 months ago and the result is fantastic. Very happy with initial consultation and aftercare appts but on the day of actual surgery it was really crowded and they were running an hour late. This wasn't great for the nerves. They were apologetic and apparently it was cause it was half term and the previous surgery day hadn't happened because it was a bank holiday so they had pushed everyone into one day. It did make it feel like you were on a production line though, quite unlike experiences before and since at that clinic. The only other complaint is that I think my surgery was performed by someone other than Mr Halliday, although he was overseeing it. But as the results w ...  More...

I had my eyes corrected 16 months ago and have to say still pleased with the results. When I had the scans done before treatment Joan was concerned about the narrowing behind my eyes, so I was taken into see Mr Haliday and he explained that it could mean that I would develop glaucoma later on. Since there was no history of this in my family I was not worried. Since then my sister has been told she has closed angle glaucoma and because it was not picked up straight away she has had to have her lens replaced in one eye. I went for a check up with Joan this week and I told her about my sister. Joan done lots of tests on me and has now referred me to the hospital. Before I went to Accuvisi ...  More...

Like everyone, my eyes are incredibly important to me. I've worn glasses since I was 12 and contacts since 16 and I'm now 23. I'd read a lot about laser eye surgery and after reading a few more reports I decided to go ahead. I was lucky enough to know an Eye Surgeon in London who although doesn't do Lasik, could recommend me to look at Accuvision in Fulham. First contact was just a phonecall and the lady was very helpful. I was surprised at her knowledge and she was comfortably able to answer all my questions. I assumed I'd get through to a receptionist who just answered the phone, but this was great and very reassuring. The consultation was completely free an ...  More...

Very thorough, professional, informative & friendly at the Solihull clinic during & after my eyes were lasered. I had my eyes done a month ago (-5.5 in eah eye) & now have 20/20 vision. I still go to look for my glasses though when I get up in the night or get out the shower, takes a couple of minutes to acknowledge that I can see without them. Also went to optical express in Birmingham & was very glad I didn't go with them. When I asked any technical questions they didn't seem to know the answers. They even told me that you don't have eye drops to numb the eyes before they do the laser surgery. They also wanted to charge £2600 for it to. Felt more like a cattle market! Very h ...  More...

From start to finish the customer experience I've had with Accuvision has been FIVE STAR! -3 in both eyes to better than 20:20 is truly life changing. While it comes down to motivational reasons to go ahead with the surgery, to have gone through the process with a professional and caring team has made this all the more enjoyable a process. Too many highlights to mention, but being talked through the prodecure by the surgeon during the producure is both engaging and all the more relaxing / distracting. The procedure itself is 4 mins per eye, painless and only some mild discomfort. And the level of aftercare, check ups, wearing a protective lens for 24 hours, and overall advice is c ...  More...

Many of the reviews for Accuvision are very long. I will just suffice by saying that you would not trust the safety of your eyes to just anybody and in Chad Rostron I do not believe there are many specialists into whose hands their safety could be better put. I had my surgery in London in early June 2007, the care I got was top class, everything since in terms of recovery has followed the pattern they said it would and I could not be more pleased. In addition, the clinic offers numerous free aftercare consultations as part of the total package. A sincere thank you to Mr Rostron and the team for freeing me after a lifetime saddled with glasses and lenses. I would not hesitate to recommend you ...  More...

I cannot praise the clinic, the staff and the results enough. I attended at the clinic on my own but the staff really looked after me. The operation only took about three minutes per eye and was completely painless (and no pain or side effects afterwards) I could see straight away after the operation. I went back the next day and my vision was great. It is now 2 weeks later and I still can't believe how good my sight now is. They tested my eyes a couple of days ago and my sight is as good now as previously when I wore my glasses. And may I say it is marvellous to not have to wear glasses or mess around with contact lenses anymore. I am telling all my friends to come to the clinic. ...  More...

Paul I am around your age range and had laser treatment 5 weeks ago, after wearing gas/hard contact lenses for 30 years. I opted for mono vision and have to say that I am delighted with the results. My left eye is the dominant one and is used for distance, while the right allows me to read perfectly. I have previously worn varifocals and guess this made the transition easier for me. Clearly it is down to what you feel comfortable with. For me it was most definitely the right choice.  More...

Hello, I am booked in next Friday at the Parsons Green clinic with Chad Rostron and while being apprehensive I am also excited at the prospect of freedom from the godforsaken contact lenses!.My prescription is sphere -7.50 cyl -150 ax 25 right eye and sphere -7.00 cyl -1.25 axis 160 left eye. My main worry is a report I read saying I was in the highest risk category for needing enhancement surgery;ie male, mid 40s and long time wearer of gas permeable lenses.Does anyone have any experience of this?. Vik at Accuvision was very thorough and professional in his examination and I passed all the criteria with room to spare so the signs are good but I just have that little niggle at the back of my ...  More...

Yesterday I had lasik surgery at the Fulham branch. I was referred by a friend who had also just gone through the surgery himself. I had previously been assessed at Optical Express in Southampton and due to their lack of everything never went ahead with surgery, not confident at all. Not the case at Accuvision. From my initial assessment I felt confident in every aspect. The staff are very friendly and put your mind at ease at once. I was nervous but can honestly say it was painless, very professional and over in literally 10 minutes. It's been four weeks since I had lasik surgery at Accuvision in Solihull. Having worn glasses for 13 years and having a strength of -6 in both eyes, I can't begin to explain how fantastic it is to be glasses and contact lens free. I chickened out before when I went to a different clinic but Accuvision were fantastic. My consultant, Vikash, was lovely, really put me at ease and took time to explain the procedure and was very patient with me even though I must've asked him the same questions over. The surgery was quick, painless and I could see as soon as it was over. I'm going for my second check-up appointment in a couple weeks time and I'm confident that everything is fi ...  More...

I had my surgery on 31 May at Fulham and found the experience excellent value for the money when compared to other services offered by competitors. The surgeon talked to me throughout the procedure to put me at ease and as it was all over within 10 minutes or so you dont have enough time to think of any negative thoughts. It was similar to having a filling at the dentist but with the belief that no more visits would be required! Overall no complaints at all and I am left with perfect vision.  More...

As with most people I spent a lot of time looking into laser correction. 1 appointment at Optical Express left me unimpressed, and Optical Express left me disappointed. They told me I would probably never achieve 20:20 vision! Accuvision didn’t make any promises, but were extremely professional, clinic was clean and modern, and I discovered 2 friends had had it done there with amazing results. Their prescriptions were worse than mine!! My eyes were -4.0 each eye before my consultation, but they measured -3.25 during the consultation. Was a little worried but Accuvision assured me that they were correct readings and it was better to be under rather than over. I had Wavefront LASIK ...  More...

Just to update - I had my 3 week check up last Wednesday, and everything is fab! I've still got a bit of dryness, so have been supplied with more drops, but overall its much less uncomfortable than wearing contact lenses. To be fair, I never really had a huge problem with contacts other than losing them, I just kind of got used to my eyes feeling slightly odd and never really thought much of it. I think the main reason I notice the slight dryness more now is because I'm conscious of not being able to rub my eyes! I've been driving with no problems since day 4, and was told at the recent check up that I can now resume swimming, kayaking etc so I'm really pleased about that ...  More...

Truly amazing results. I have been wearing contacts for ten years with no problems, but a friend of mine had laser correction a few years ago and I have thought about it ever since. I sent off for info from about 5 clinics, but I went for Accuvision for several reasons: free consultation, reasonable prices, latest technology and close to where I live. There was no pressure to sign up, and I was even shown a very explicit video of an operation and shown into the operating suite (I wanted to know exactly what would happen). I was fairly sure I was going ahead, but I wanted to think about it, so I took away a list of dates for the next few months. Having thought about it for a couple of weeks, ...  More...

I had my surgery done on 4th April 2007 at Solihull. I cannot fault the care from start to finish. Both my eyes were approx -3.50 My left eye has better vision than I had with my glasses and my right eye is as good as if I were wearing my glasses. To say I was nervous of the procedure was an understatement, but I can honestly say nothing hurt during the procedure and the level of discomfort afterwards was minimal and very short lived. I rested my eyes as instructed and I do believe this is crucial to a fast and painless experience. I know everybody has different pain thresholds and different healing rates - but I considered both mine to be low! I now feel like I've never worn gla ...  More...

Had lasik at the Fulham branch just over a week ago. Despite being very nervous, the experience was extremely positive and I am already recommending Accuvision to my closest family and friends. I have no regrets of opting for Lasik or choosing (after lots of research) this clinic. I had 20:20 vision 24 hours after the surgery, which was quick and did not hurt. As a result I have been freed from painful lens use and I only wish I had been able to do this earlier. The single thing which could have been improved is the fact that post-op patients and those awaiting surgery sit in the same area – the obvious discomfort of an earlier patient (who I later found out had undergone a different pr ...  More...

I had wavefront lasik at their Parsons Green clinic in London a couple of weeks ago. Consultation was great with no pressure to book up, which was refreshing as i felt under pressure to go ahead at the other consulatations I had. I went to 4 different places before deciding to opt for Accuvision. I chose them as they made me feel at ease, seemed honest, were not pushy, and they seem to have greater experience of dealing successfully with poorer prescriptions like mine. They were also competitively priced. The actual surgery day was quick and comfortable. They have been professional, polite and curteous at all times. I was only there about 1.5 hours on the day of the surgery, which incl ...  More...

I was done on Thursday at the Solihull clinic, have gone from -6.5 in right eye to -0.25 and -3.75 in left to -0.5. Absolutely amazing, the team there were really good. Things are still a little smeary, which I was assured will get better - it feels a bit like having contact lenses which have been in slightly too long. Info on this site was hugely helpful, enough people have described what the actual procedure is like so I won't bore you! I was very scared, and the surgical team had to keep reminding me to try and breathe normally as I was hyperventilating for the whole of the first eye. Of course that meant I got an extra dose of that gross smell, which even though I had been expecting ...  More...

I wanted to give you a brief step by step guide through the process from initial enquiry through to surgery and the follow up. I have been wearing glasses for around 10 years now and being in my late 20's and still playing a fair bit of sport & surfing; I had become increasingly annoyed with wearing glasses and uncomfortable, tired eyes after a day of wearing contact lenses. After my initial enquiry I received an appointment confirmation & DVD in the post the next day. I found this fantastic in giving me an idea of what to expect during the initial consultation and provided I was a suitable candidate, what I could expect from the next steps. Upon arriving for the first appoint ...  More...

I found the testimonials both on this site and lasik-eyes.co.uk invaluable so thought it only right to add mine. My prescription Right Eye; Sphere minus 8.00 / Cyl minus 3.25 / Axis 25. Left Eye; Sphere minus 8.25 / Cyl minus 2.75 / Axis 158 Friday 16th March 2007 I went to Optical Express in Birmingham and must say the experience left me cold! It felt much like a cattle market and not at all personal. I was told I would be suitable for treatment and was encouraged to pay a deposit there and then in order to secure my operation as soon as possible. This gave me the feeling of a sales-orientated environment and not one whose MAIN goal is the improvement of the patients eyes... (Thi ...  More...

Ops on 15Mar07, -5 on both sides with tiny ast. in right. Had checked lots of websites (incl this one, invaluable!!) and decided to check out Accuvision, Optimax and Optical Express. Narrowed it down to Accuvision and Optical Express and made appointments for the consultation. Got the paperwork from Accuvision the next day, Optical Express didn't even manage to send the promised material within a week (and subsequently I cancelled the appointment). Consultation went well, thicker than average cornea and small pupils, both things apparently very promising. Took a couple of days to decide (no hard sell whatsoever, no chasing or anything) then booked the op. Surgeon was B. Halliday with ex ...  More...

Well, I had my eyes done in October. The first week, everything was quite misty and my eyes felt gritty. Once the mist cleared my vision was really good, apart from first thing in the morning. I did suffer with my eyes being very dry though and was quite reliant on drops for the first couple of months. I have left it this long as I wanted to write a fair report. It is now almost six months and my eyesight is fantastic, I never allowed myself to hope that I would see this well. The dryness has now gone, and the only slightly negative thing is that I get starburst effect at night. However, this is not uncomfortable and doesn't bother me much, since I used to get it with contact lens and to ...  More...

I was -9 in both eyes, so was delighted when Accuvision were able to treat me in April 2006. I had previously gone to Ultralase who advised that I was not suitable, so to have a positive response from Accuvision was great. I was a bit concerned when they said they could do it as I had already been told I was unsuitable but they reassured me that they had more advanced machinery and could treat patients with a higher prescription. I was made to feel comfortable at all times and the treatment and aftercare were brilliant. I now have 20/20 vision which is amazing as I was so short sighted before. Both my friends and family were amazed wtih the results and I would recommend Accuvision to ...  More...

I had my surgery done back in September as a couple of my friends had had their done at this clinic earlier the same year. I have been completely satisfied with all aspects of the car I have receieved and with the quality of my vision etc which is now better than 20/20 in both eyes. My pre surgery prescription was -5.00 in the left eye and -4.75 in the right eye, it is a pleasure to not have to worry about lenses anymore ! Both of my friends have also been more than satisfied with their results and I have subsequently referred 2 people on to accuvision in the last few months with again the same results. I am sure we all know the risks etc but accuvision are good from the consultation p ...  More...

I had my treatment at Accuvision in Fulham and the service they provided me was absolutely amazing. I had previously had a consultation with Optical Express on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. I was appalled by their consultation and sales methods and I knew 100% that I would never let them near my eyes. Their advertising was so misleading. They say their fees start from £395 per eye but they ended up quoting me £3040. Then in the actual consultation they put the drops in my eyes that dilate the pupils. It severely blurred my vision but they insisted I then read and sign an 8 page document. I told her I couldn't see it properly because they had blurred my vision with the drops but she i ...  More...

I was -1.75 and -2.25 that was until Wednesday 28th of Feb; I then had my laser treatment at Accuvision Fulham. I chose them through a good friends recommendation, the cost of £1,100 for both eye looked good value. The team were friendly, the environment clean and there's plenty of tea. My operation was quick (pain less), my recovery swift. I've had two check ups, 24 hours later and 7 days. I already knew my 'new' eye sight was brilliant, but they did the checks to confirm 20:20. There are a few more checks to go before fully discharged, but for me no regrets.  More...

I had lasik surgery done in both eyes at the Fulham clinic, in January 2006... ie over 1 year ago. Purposely didn't write any comments immediately after surgery, because I wanted to see how things worked out long term, before giving a verdict. Overall am extremely happy with the results. I had -3.5 in both eyes, and now my vision is 20:20. Don't have to worry about contacts and glasses anymore, and my vision is so good that I have no regrets whatsoever about doing the surgery...although that's not to say that I haven't noticed various slight side-effects to my vision, post-surgery. Night-vision isn't quite as good as before, reading in low-light is more difficul ...  More...

The staff were helpful and it was very easy to get appointments. The only glitch was that apparently despite several attempts, the pre-operation pack did not get to me and the staff got a bit ratty with me for not having received it. The surgery was well explained and the people attending were reassuring. I had 20:20 vision walking out and 20:15 within a week. Very happy!  More...

I never imagined that I would see with my eyes (without my glasses and contact lens). I consulted many other laser eye specialists, but I was told that laser will not help. However, thanks to Accuvision I have managed to get near perfect sight, which is something that I never expected. It has been 3 months since my operation. I had -4.5 and -5 with an astigmatism and thin cornea. I was told by Accuvision that my sight may not be perfect, but I should be independent of glasses and contacts. I thought that the risk was worth it in the end. I have been to the Fulham clinic today and the verdict was that I have 20/20 in my right eye and a very slight prism in my left eye. My eyes are healing we ...  More...

I had laser surgery at Accuvision in London in September 2006. I was -5.5 in both eyes with mild astigmastism. My Corneal thickness was apparently just below average. Nearly 6 months on I have better than 20:20 vision in both eyes. My advice is this: - take reviews written by folks 2 days or 2 weeks after the surgery with a pinch of salt. Initially its pretty euphoric to wake up and start to see things clearly!!! I purposely held off making any comments until things had properly settled down and I'd gotten over that "Oh my god I can see!" stage! My own personal experience is that I'm chuffed with my distance vision but there are minor side effects. a) I now have ' ...  More...

All painless and truthfully the best decision I have made in my life, please do not be put off by the scare mongering that goes on, the results these days and the technology that these guys use are second to none. It is unbeleivable to be able to have the vision that I now have, my pre op presciption was -7.00 in both eyes, they are now better than any of my non glasses wearing friends! I had my operation at the the Fulham clinic on the 18th January and one week on I am really pleased with the result. I looked into it for a long time and had a consultation with optical express but then a friend recommended Accuvision to me. I was not impressed with Optical Express at all because they were very unprofessional, I went into their high street kensington branch to pay for my the operation but there was no one there to arrange despite being told on the phone that it could be arranged on anyday. They then told me that I would be able to arrange it at Shaftesbury Avenue but they too were unable to take my booking. I have spent countless hours wondering what it would be like, to wake in the morning and see everything in my room clearly as soon as I open my eyes. To be honest, I never really thought much could be done about it and simply settled for going through my morning ritual of groping for my lenses and poking my eyes to put them in. I think the thing that bothered me most, was feeling helpless until I put on my lenses. I have never liked wearing contact lenses. They make my eyes terribly dry when I wear them too long and besides that they have given me a couple of eye infections too. I dislike glasses even more, as they are so cumbersome. However, I am studying for my master’s degree so I n ...  More...

I went to see an eye consultant after noticing my left eye had started to squint inwards. He advised me to have lasik laser surgery instead of doing a squint operation as he said lasik would improve my vision making my eyes stronger and so reducing the squint. He reccomended Accuvision in Fulham so off I went for a consultation. The staff there were fantastic. During my consultation they were very honest and said that although the lasik would improve my vision they could not guarantee it would help my squint. After much though and on the advice of my eye consultant I decided to have the lasik done and I have never been so glad!!!
