I had been considering laser eye surgery for quite some time but until the last couple of years, my prescription had not been stable enough. Over the last 2 years my prescription had not changed (-6.25 & -6.00) so I decided to take the plunge and go for it. I’d had enough of glasses and contact lenses and always hated my dependence on them. I spent time researching what was available and stumbled on this website. Having read the comments posted on each clinic, I decided to go for a consultation with Accuvision, mainly due to the fact that nobody had a bad word to say about them. I went along for the consultation and even at this point I knew I had made the right choice of clinics. ...  More...

I recently had my laser surgery just over a month ago my prescription was very high and I was generally getting very fed up with wearing contact lenses and also the fact that I was wearing glasses for nearly twenty years. I visited Accuvision for a initial consultation and I was very impressed with the friendly service they provided. They were very informative about the whole procedure and explained everything to me. They made me feel very relaxed about the whole process and made me feel more confident about having the corrective surgery done considering I was very nervous about the whole process. When I finally underwent the corrective surgery, they made me feel very calm about the ...  More...

I had sight correction with Wavefront procedure done Wednesday 22 June 05 and I am really pleased with the results. I didn't have a strong perscription (-2.0 in each eye) but it was enough to mean that I needed glasses/lenses all the time. I can't believe how well I can see now! I even felt confident enough to drive home from the 1 day follow up appointment (my husband drove to the appointment as I wanted to wait until I had been given the 'all clear'). I didn't experience any pain but did feel a little faint afterwards - I am convinced that is due to my nervousness leading up to the procedure!! I was subsequently told that this can happen but that might have been sai ...  More...

Had both eyes done 5 days ago and the results are fantastic. My prescription was 1.75 in both eyes and - from the day after surgery - I'm now the proud owner of 20/20 vision! I researched eye surgery very thoroughly and Accuvision impressed me with their surgical team, equipment, patient care and reviews. The initial consultation with Vik was extremely thorough and honest, yet also reassuring. My surgeon was Brett Halliday and he and his team (I think there were about 6 people in the room on the day) were brilliant. Not only did they talk me through every moment of the procedure; they were also genuinely very caring. It's a big thing to have done so this is very important. I can' ...  More...

For those of you looking for a clinic that has the most experienced surgeons, the best equipment and staff who really care about best advice and acheiving the best possible results you should go to Accuvision. My prescription was R +6.00 -5.00, L +7.00 -6.50. Two days after treatment my site was good enough to drive and after six weeks my site test shows I have 20/20 vision with just 0.5 astigmastism in both eyes. Given the severity of my astigmatism and long sight you can imagine I took great care to choose a clinic that really had the experience to take on the challenge. I looked at other top clinics and it was evident they did not have the experience of treating more complex prescri ...  More...

I had been deliberating over whether to have the surgery for quite a few years and finally decided this year to make that extra special effort to save. I looked around on the internet for advice and inspiration as to where to go and I was recommended Accuvision by a friend of a friend who had her treatment in October 2004. She raved about everything to do with Accuvision so I decided to make the effort and call them. I had my initial consultation with Vik on 30/9. This lasted approx an hour and was extremely thorough. Vik was brilliant too keeping me informed of everything he was doing and why! As I had really made up my mind before going for the consultation I was put off at all a ...  More...

I spent two years deliberating whether to have surgery or not and finally decided to go for it. Had the surgery 2nd November with Mr Rostron, prescription was -7.5 and -8.0. Surgery went well, slight stinging and grittiness for a few hours after surgery, but the drops relieved that. Had the checkup the next morning and both eyes were healing faster than expected. Had my one week check yesterday and I'm continuing to improve: 20/20 vision and that was on a bad eye day! Left eye is healing a little slower than right, but is getting there gradually. Getting halos and starbursts at night but was told that would clear up in a few weeks. Overall I can't believe how good my visi ...  More...

I had wavefront treatment to both eyes on 2nd November at the London clinic. My prescription was -6.5 & -7.00 and now less than 1 week later my eyes are settling down very well with no need for glasses or contact lenses anymore. I had my 24 hour check up with my vision not quite 20/20 but hopefully by my 1st week check up it will be. I am able to see very clearly which includes reading, working on the computer and watching TV. The team were all very helpfull and made me feel at ease at all times. The actual treatment took about 20 minutes and there was only a small amount of discomfort for just a few minutes on each eye. I am very pleased with the results so far and with the overal ...  More...

I had my surgery last Wednesday (2nd Nov) and on the following day I already had 20/15 vision! It truly is amazing. I have gone from -3.00 & -3.75 to being able to see better then ever before. Being glasses free after 15 years is incredibly liberating. Everything from the word go has been 1st class, I booked the surgery on the very day of the consulation as I was so pleased with the service I received. Vik is an absolute gem, he is so caring and explains everything in such a way that is reassuring without being patronising. I'm going for my second check up in two days time but know everything will be fine. The surgery was a little scary but I only suffered stinging for about ...  More...

I had laser surgery on 17/10 & although I still have afew weeks to go before I reach my final improved sight the results so far are amazing. I was recommended accuvision by a Consultant Ophthalmologist (You can't get any better than that)and went for my consultation on 11/10. This was extremely thorough and professional, but at the same time Vikash was very friendly & made sure that I understood everything he was doing. He explained the surgery & the possible outcomes to me but it wasn't sugar coated and he made sure that the cons awell as the pros were clearly spelt out to me. I am now 6 weeks post treatment. Overall am very pleased with Accuvission. The pre surgery info was all spot on. The staff were all very professional and friendly. Prior to surgery I had a mild prescription (-1.5) in both eyes. I now have better than 20/20 vision, and am thoroughly enjoying being able to see the details that I couldn't previously. The vision was up to 20/20 in my right eye the day after surgery, and the left one soon caught up, and is just as good now.  More...

Being shortsighted I have been wearing glasses for about 14 years. After investigating Eye Laser Surgery for over 4 years I finally overcame my fear and phobias and booked in for surgery with Accuvision in Fulham for last Thursday 06th October 2005. I only wish I had done it sooner! The staff were extremely impressive and friendly, putting me at ease from the first moment and talking me through what was happening the whole time. They had a lovely nurse called Joan who sat and held my hand throughout the whole. My main fear (having witnessed the procedure on television) was the "eye clamps" used. I needn't have worried. The whole procedure for both eyes took around 8 minutes. And th ...  More...

I have worn glasses/contact lenses for the past twenty years and without them I was fairly restricted, my eyesight was nearly minus six in both eyes and therefore I was completely reliant on my glasses if I wasn’t wearing my contacts. My choice to have the procedure done came from my wanting to play more sports/swim and not have tried eyes at the end of the day from wearing contacts. Having decided to do some research on companies I chose Accuvision. Other companies seemed too busy to even discuss booking the consultation let alone having a conversation with me. This gave me doubt; if their customer service skills were poor what are their surgical procedures like? I looked into findi ...  More...

I just had my 3 month check up and my vision is absolutely perfect with no side effects at all. I have huge pupils and so I would have been prone to poor night vision without the wave front technology. I initially had halo's at night on bright lights for a couple of months but that has all cleared up now. The entire team have been informative and friendly and I was particularly impressed by the fact that at no time did I feel I was been given the hard sell. I had considered laser eye correction for a while now and after extensive research came to the conclusion that Accuvision should be on my shortlist of clinics. There were many reasons; Chad Rostrons' (the surgeon)impressive CV, the fact that they use the Wavelight laser which has outperformed everything else in the FDA clinical trials and they charge a fair price for all this expertise. Anyway, my consultation with Vikash didn't disappoint and Mr. Rostron was excellent. My results are beyond my wildest dreams: 20/15 vision with each eye and pushing 20/10 with both. Aftercare has also been brilliant and it seems that nothing is too much trouble for the Accuvision team. A BIG THAN ...  More...

My life has truly been changed overnight and I can't believe I have endured hideous glasses for 16 years and contact lenses for the past 30 years. All efforts in the past to have laser surgery were dismissed by my optician on the grounds that my eye sight was too poor (+8 prescription and stigmatism) and it was only through recommendation that I made contact with Accuvision. From the initial consultation to my laser treatment they could not have been more helpful or re-assuring. The procedure was totally painless though I'm glad I was one of those people who didn't want to know the details of what they were going to do!! At worst my eyes were sort for a day or so but a couple ...  More...

I had lasik surgery before back in the day when it had pretty much just started out. Over the years my eayes had started deteriorating a bit and I was forced to wear spectacles again. I decided to try Accuvision firstly because trying to get in contact with anyone from Optimax was worse than having teeth pulled. Getting an appointment at Accuvision was easy and hassle-free. From there things only got better. Because of my previous lasik surgery, my case was not not a straight-forward one - but everything went perfectly!! Having worn glasses/contact lenses for 15 years I decided that i would look into having laser eye surgery done. Having been to a consultation at Ultralase and one at Accuvision I decided that Accuvision seemed more informative and you were given a lot more personal attention. I had my surgery done on Tuesday 6 September at Solihull and I can honestly say things could not of gone any better. Surgery itself was painless but strange as you were aware of something going on but it did not hurt one bit. Throughout the surgery you were advised every step of the way as to what was happening or what was going to happen next. My eyes watered for a couple of hours after but by the evening I could ...  More...

I had laser eye surgery on April 20th 2005. Let me admit at the outset that I am one of life's worriers. I reasearched Laser eye surgery for over two years following an initial consultation with Ultralase in London, and I mean RESEARCHED!! I was in two minds - I wanted it done, but didn't really think I could trust anyone to slice into my eyes. When I met Nick Dash at Accuvision, Solihull I was incredibly impressed by his obvious knowledge, experience and genuine continued interest in Laser surgery. He very thoroughly answered all of my questions (I was there for a LONG time) and showed me the operating room which helped remove some of the mystery/fear of the unknown. I left with h ...  More...

After reading some testimonals on the Accuvision website and following research of other clinics, I decided to go ahead and have a consultation for laser eye surgery with Accuvision. I had my consultation on Friday 26th August and happily was told I was suitable for treatment. Bearing in mind my prescription was +5.25 left eye and +5.00 right eye I was not overly optimistic I would be accepted. I booked my surgery day for last Wednesday 31st August. I can honestly say that the whole experience was totally painless and all the staff were very helpful and willing to discuss any questions and worries. I only had slight gritty feeling on the actual day and woke up the following morning ...  More...

I was 2.25 short sighted in both eyes. Had operation (wave-front) on 4.08.05 after feeling very confident with the very thorough and professional eye examination prior. The operation itself was not painful, I was made to feel very safe by the team and was pleased to be accompanied in the room by 5 staff all together. Though it is totally painless, I only felt anxious at the process about to take place, but was made to feel calm and safe by the surgeon who contiously explained what was happening and what he was going to do next. Once over, I was thanked by the surgeon and team for "trusting them with my eyes". All went perfectly, they said and I was very happy. I waited, took the drops and wa ...  More...

I had my surgery on 28th April 2005 (some time ago now), and can say now that time has past, that I have the same opinion now that I had the day after surgery: The best thing I could have spent money on! It's easy to forget how much of an inconvenience wearing glasses was. I sat down to watch telly the other night and even after all this time I had an urge to reach out for them. It's just such a relief not to have to bother with them anymore. I love swimming, whether it's in the sea or local pool, and now I have 20-15 vision I find that I am going more often. This is all down to Accuvision. I admit I went to them with the only recommendation being a magazine article, so fr ...  More...

I had my treatment at Accuvision on 21st July (done by Mr Pandit), to correct a prescription of around -4.0 in both eyes, with some slight astigmatism. I initially had my consultation with Joan Moore about three weeks previous to the treatment. As well as putting up with my endless stream of questions, they were careful to explain the risks to me, and tell me what outcome I should realistically expect. My experience of them so far is that they have been very professional. If you want to go ahead with the treatment you MUST understand the risks involved, as you'll be expected to sign a consent form which virtually waives any legal implications on Accuvision's part if it goes wro ...  More...

After starting to wear glasses circa 1997 just for reading and working at the computer and ten years later having to wear them practically for everything, I knew it was time for action. Having thoroughly reviewed many many eye clinics offerings (including Harley Street)and conducted research over a period of six months, I finally based my decision on four key ingredients, listed now in order. Surgeon qualifications and availability, top technology, the best rating on this site after taking into account the number of people rating the clinic in comparison to the actual rating score and finally, value for money (not that one should ever put a price on eyesight). There was only one, in my opi ...  More...

I had surgery at Solihull on 28th July. After my original consultation I was very impressed with the clinic, the atmosphere was excellant.Nick was superb during my examination and answered all the questiones I had, even looking at the ones Id printed from this site. I was shown the operating room and the laser. I was so confidant and relaxed. The consultation lasted just over an hour. Anyway I checked out another clinic but they just couldnt live up to the standards shown by nick danash, who was very easy to talk to and honest. On surgery day I arrived at the clinic, some people were waiting for surgery others sat with their eyes shut (this was advised after surgery as it helps the healing p ...  More...

Had consultation with Nick at Solihull on Mon 8th Aug, was so impressed that I booked surgery for Wed 10th. My prescription was -6.00 and -5.75, extremely short sighted. I basically chose Accuvision because Ultralase and Optimax I didn't find very friendly on the phone but Accuvision were totally different, nothing is too much trouble. Was very nervous on the day (I have been known to faint at a check-up at the dentist!)I pleaded with my husband to take me home, I even convinced myself I liked my glasses, but luckily he stuck to his guns and made me stay! At that point I was called in and became very calm really, I think because they are so friendly at Accuvision it really does put you ...  More...

I cant praise Accuvison highly enough from the moment you walk in you instantly feel comfortable with the surroundings, i was welcomed by the lovely Monica at reception - gorgeous smile. Vikash Patel conducted my consultation and was very thorough and relayed my initial fears as i effectively have only one working eye. I chose Accuvision as they were able to accomodate for my tricky Prescription which was L (EYE) +5.50 Astigmatism of 1.75 & axis of 145. i had surgery on the 8th August 2005 and i can honestly say i have not looked back since, for me it was the best decision of my life and i now have vision just shy of 20/20, The surgery team consisted of Darius, Mr Roston & Joan, throughout t ...  More...

I had custom wavefront guided lasik on the 3rd August. I chose Accuvision mainly because of the laser they use and the fact that it uses less corneal tissue than all the other lasers. The service has been very professional so far. I was -4.00 and -2.75 with astigmatism in both eyes. Surgery was uncomfortable but not too bad, post surgery was like having onions rubbed into my eyes and this effect lasted for about two hours. After that I just had the feeling of having left my contact lenses in too long. I could tell straight away that the vision in my right eye was perfect and as a result I have started to worry about my left eye. I know it's early days (only two days post op) but I&# ...  More...

My short sighted astigmatic abnormal eyes were treated 48 hours ago by the team of Darius (centre founder), Dr Chad Rostron (surgeon) using the Wavelight Industries Allegretto laser. Some months before the surgery I had two very comprehensive and excellent consultations with Vikash preparing me for my decision. In my research I was interested in specialist clinics which were not part of a large chain and which also had a large number of positive reviews on the lasik-eyes website. My list was then narrowed down to just three clinics. Due to my abnormal corneas, one of my selected clinics turned me down flat, another other said they were 70% certain they would not treat me. This left me wit ...  More...

I had worn contact lenses for over twenty years and during this time had increasingly followed the research into laser surgery. I always used to think how wonderful it would be to be free of contact lenses and glasses. I was extremely shortsighted, my right eye was -7.00 with an additional astigmatism of -1.50 making an overall prescription of -8.50. My left eye was -7.00 with an astigmatism of -2.00 so giving a prescription of -9.00. So without lenses or glasses my vision was poor at best. I also had a prism requirement, my prescription for this being -2. About eighteen years ago I had a partial detached retina in my right eye. One of my on-going concerns with laser treatment was the ris ...  More...

Having had the treatment my eyesight is now better than 20/20 - something I never thought I would ever have. However, I have to say that I was a very nervous patient to say the least, and the procedure had to be stopped once because I was so petrified! But the surgeon persevered and the nurse had her hand crushed by me. I came out of the surgery and had to wait in the waiting room for about 15 minutes - not knowing that the whites of my eyes had haemorraged - they were bright red, which put the frighteners on a few people who were waiting to go in. I was told this happened very infrequently and would disappear on its own. It didn't hurt at all - just like bruising to my eye. I was ...  More...

It has been seven months now since having laser eye surgery and quite possibly the best decision i have ever made. I previously wore glasses and contact lenses for twenty years and found it such a restriction on my life both personal and also career wise. I always thought about having the treatment but never got round to it until i decided to change jobs. I did alot of research and liked the look of accuvision. I was not disappointed. As soon as i arrived for the assessment i felt comfortable and could not wait to have the treatment so miuch so that i made an appointment there and then! On the day of the operation i could not believe how quick it took and how painless. My original vision was ...  More...

Have just booked for initial consultation at Accuvision in Solihull. Am patiently reading the feedback about this company, who overall seem to have a very good success rate. I have however noticed that the majority are from patients who have been treated at other clinics, mainly London area. Would be pleased to hear from someone who has been treated at the Solihull clinic in Birmingham. Also could anyone advise me as to the general cost these days as they are offering treatment to start at £699 per eye, I think going up to £899 per eye, but the reports I have been reading are people talking about £3,4 and even £5000. for both eyes. Would be grateful for any information. Thanks.  More...

I'd been interested in the possibility of refractive surgery since I heard about it ten years ago. I know four people who've had it done and all of them raved about it so I started investigating the various clinics offering the treatment. My prescription was -2.5/-3.5 with a fair amount of astigmatism. I booked a consultation at Ultralase in Birmingham. It was a bit hurried. Probably because of the amount of people waiting to be seen but what put me off them was being told that I couldn't have Wavefront because my pupils are about 3mm and their technology wasn't up to it. Then I emailed Accuvision about whether I'd be eligible for Wavefront and they said in principle i ...  More...

I'm a dirtbike journalist and was fed up of contact lenses getting lost every time I wiped my eyes when full of mud - not good when you're in the middle of a race. So I had laser surgery two weeks ago, the custom lasik in both eyes. My prescription before surgery was -4.5 and -3.5, with a stiggy and abnormally large pupils. Throughout the whole process the team were great. I had the consultation and the actual surgery all in one week. During the actual surgery I did experience more than average discomfort and even though I was fairly distressed the team, surgeon and nurses were fantastic, holding my hand and reassuring me constantly. I now have perfect vision in both eyes, although ...  More...

I like many others have spent the last couple of years pondering if I should have this operation. My eye sight is -4.5 in both eyes, I am 42 and still fairly active. 2 weeks before my operation my girlfriend told me I should go for it, which thank goodness I did what I was told!! From the initial consultation through to surgery it was 10 days. From picking up the phone to the operation I must say that Accuvision were the most professional company I have ever come across. I HAD CUSTOM LASIK SURGERY ON THE 9TH JUNE 2005, I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND READ SEVERAL REVIEWS LIKE THE ONES THAT YOU SEE POSTED ON THIS SITE. MY EXPERIENCE IS VERY SIMILAR TO MANY OF THOSE WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO HAVE THEIR TREATMENT AT ACCUVISION.IT WAS VERY PROFFESIONAL FROM THE FIRST CONSULTATION TO THE PRESENT TIME. MY MAIN POINT OF CONTACT WAS MR NICK DASH, HE HELPED ME ALONG AND MADE IT VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURE AND WHAT WAS INVOLVED. LIKE MANY I HAD BEEN TOLD BY OTHER CLINICS THAT MY PRESCRIPTION OF R +4.5 L +5.0 WAS NOT TREATABLE, BUT I WAS ASSURED BY ACCUVISION THAT THEY COULD TREAT ME. I have just had my 6 week check and found that my vision is 20/15 - wow! I knew it was good but not that good! Before surgery I was -10 short sighted and relied on specs from waking up until actually crawling into bed - this operation has changed my life. I didn't realise that the world was in focus in the distance - always pushing up my specs. The team at London are great - making you feel really at home and giving a personal service. I had Custom Lasik surgery at Accuvision a few weeks ago. I was short sighted with a prescription of about -2.50 in each eye. I cant believe the result, I now have better than 20/20 vision. No more glasses, I should have done this years ago. The staff at Accuvision are very helpful and they really seem to care about the standard of treatment. I found the treatment to be completely personal and I felt that the surgeons were customising the treatment for my eyes precisely. A great result!  More...

Well, here I am typing this with no glasses on! It's still very strange and I'm totally overwhelmed by it all! It's stunning to be able to see for the first time in my life. Anyway, you probably get how excited am I by now :-) I have wanted to get my eyes done for the longest time and spent the last six months researching in earnest. I went to a couple of other clinics first as I wanted to try out three - word to the wise, avoid Optical Express if your prescription is over a + or -3. Having been turned away, I discovered Accuvision. From the start they were efficient and very friendly. Not pushy at all. They agreed to take me on and I had my surgery last Wednesy 29th June 2005. It is now 3 weeks, since I plucked up the courage to have laser surgery to my eyes! Like many people I was very anxious about making what was, to me, such a huge decision. However, the pre-op assessment allayed most of my concerns and gave me a really good understanding of what I could expect at the time of surgery and afterwards, and of the potential complications and likely benefits. Many thanks to Vikash Patel, for his patience and calmness, and for answering all my queries, without putting me under any pressure to make a decision. The surgery went exactly as planned with all the staff helping to put me at my ease. What amazes me most, is that for me, there really was no pain at all! The ...  More...

I had my eyes lasered at Accuvision in May 2005. I am absolutely thrilled with the result. I am 54 and had a prescription of -6.5 with astigmatism. The results are fantastic and I'm certainly very pleased that I had it done. All the staff are very polite and friendly and they really put you at your ease. The surgery does not hurt at all, the most you could say is some slight discomfort for a short while but it is certainly worth it.  More...

I have recently had my one year follow-up appointment at Accuvision having been treated in April 2004 and they have been fantastic from my initial consultation through surgery and follow-up appointments. I had -7 prescription in one eye and slightly higher in the other, both with astigmatism and larger-than-average pupils - now I have 20/20 vision. I never thought this would be possible! Having started wearing glasses aged 5 and having had several unsuccessful and uncomfortable attempts at wearing contact lenses in my teens and twenties I never thought I'd be free of glasses. I had looked into laser surgery in the early 90s and been told my prescription was too high and that basi ...  More...

I was turned down by a couple of clinics as I was very short-sighted, have flat eyeballs and very large pupils. I found Accuvision through Lasikeyes and phoned them, half expecting to be turned away. To my relief they said that they thought they could treat me, although could not guarantee me 20:20 vision. After a very thorough consultation and a chat with one of the surgeons I decided to go ahead. I had my surgery in March, and am delighted. I went back last week for my latest checkup and now have better vision unaided than I had with glasses before surgery. It was not entirely problem free, there was a problem with the healing of one of the flaps, but it was sorted out promptly and e ...  More...

I am back at work 48 hours after having surgery which says a lot about how easy the procedure is. My initial check-up said better than 20/20. My prescription was -3.00 in each eye. I compared 3 clinics, Ultralase, Optical Express and Accuvision. I went for Accuvision because the environment felt right and the surgeon, Chad Rostron works in the NHS which is listed as an important criteria on the choosing the surgeon page on this site. The surgery was very quick and their approach was very calming. Nevertheless, you do worry that you are completely mad in deciding to have your eye cut into! If you are nervous of dentists etc ask if you can take a valium or something. Fortunately it is ov ...  More...

My husband and I had our eye surgery about 9 weeks ago, and I think it's time to consider the results. My husband (with a real strong prescription, -11 / -9, that means blind as a mole and not allowed to wear contact lenses any more) and I (-3.5 and -1.5) had been interested in eye treatment for many years, but we had the feeling that eye treatment in Germany is not as common as in other countries. If somebody talked e. g. on TV about it, in most cases it was quite a negative report showing the risks, side effects etc. So we were very hesitant. Nevertheless, two years ago my husband went to a prestigious ophthalmologist in Germany for a first consultation. He was told that his eyes ...  More...

It is about two years now since I had laser eye surgery at Accuvision. Prior to deciding whether to have treatment I looked at a number of sites & found this one the most useful. I was interested to know what peoples experience was some while after surgery, rather than just after a few weeks. As I am now in that position myself, I thought it might be useful to recount my own experience. I had laser eye surgery two years ago when I was 51. The entire process was speedy, without pain & completely successful. Pre-treatment, I had short sight. My prescription was between –8.5 & -9.5 with severe astigmatism in both eyes. I became aware that some clinics only dealt with less severe condi ...  More...

Where do I begin! Last week I went into Accuvision with a -15 in each eye and today I am writing this with a -0.5 in my right eye and pretty much perfect in my left eye! Accuvision were amazing, believe me with a prescription as bad as mine I certainly did the research and I found Accuvision, the friendliest, the most honest and the most caring out of all the others. This was particularly noticeable when I went in for surgery first time round and they discovered a small hole in my retina. Surgery was cancelled and my money refunded, but more importantly than that the guys at Accuvision arranged for me to see an eye specialist near my home to get the hole checked out and phoned the next d ...  More...

It came down to 2 clinics - Accuvision and Ultralase. Both offered same price, but Accuvision had the edge on customer service and convinced me that their procedure was more up to date. I have no regrets and almost 3 weeks after surgery all is well, but for a little dry eye and some bruising of the eye ball above the eye lid. I have 20/20 vision for the first time in my life and it's amazing. I would definately recommend getting Wavefront Lasik and Accuvision surpassed themselves in customer service.  More...

I contacted a number of clinics regarding laser surgery and this was the only one with the expertise to handle such a complex prescription. After 2 years of deliberation, I finally decided to take the plunge. The whole experience was fantastic. The staff were friendly, reassuring and extremely professional. The procedure itself was quick and completely pain free!. For the first time in my life I no longer need to wear glasses. After researching for two years - finally had the procedure done 24/2/05. I went to Accuvision because of all the clinics I visited - they seemed the most knowledgeable and had the best laser for my eyes. My eyes were not terrible, but I was tired of contacts for sports and outdoor activities (3.75 in each eye with moderate astigmatism, 5.00 at night due to larger than average pupils). End result - I've got 20/20. My advice: * Do your research - ask lots of questions. Find the best clinic at the right price for your eye sight. I'm not sure that a more expensive clinic equals better vision. The laser does most of the work. However, if go too cheap, don't be surprised if thin ...  More...

I was first introduced to Accuvision in autumn last year when I was at my local Opticians for a routine two year check up. I was discussing my poor eyesight with my Optician and I said that I had considered laser eye surgery but had been told when I had made enquiries with a laser eye company that they did not accept anyone with a prescription of 5.00+ and over. The laser eye company I had made enquiries with said that they had not had good results in the past with higher plus lens prescriptions and so were not taking anyone with that sort of prescription any more. I had also e-mailed another eye laser company and sent my details and they had told me that I was border-line. My Optician s ...  More...

Having thought about LASIK eye surgery for the last few years I decided to find out my suitability and book a consultation. I went to one other clinic first before my friend recommended ACCUVISION where he had his eyes done 18 months earlier and his cousin had her eyes done 12 months before that. The consultation was very thorough and all my questions were answered. I was suitable so I decided to go ahead. On the day they redone some of the tests and then I was taken in to meet the surgeon. He done some further tests and answered more of my questions. Twenty minutes later I was taken in for my surgery. The surgery team were friendly, efficient and confident which was reassuring. I have worn glasses since the age of 3 and soft contact lenses from the age of 16. With a prescription of +7.5 with a severe astigmatism in both eyes, I assumed that I was destined to wear my glasses and lenses for life. This appeared to be compounded by a condition called Pigmentation Dispersion Syndrome, which is apparently very rare in long sighted people. When I was told last authumn that I may no longer be able to wear soft lenses due to a growth of blood vessels in my right eye, I was devastated. I contacted a number of clinics to enquire about laser surgery and was told by all of them that my prescription was way outside the range for treatment. Then, purely by chance, I came acro ...  More...

For a number of years I have wanted to get laser treatment and decided after much research and 2 consultations with 2 seperate companies that Accuvision (which was the 2nd consultation) was the company that instilled full confidence in my trust with them with regards to the entire procedure. I had a prescription of only -2 in both eyes and after a very efficient, professional service I now have 20/20 vision. To say that I am happy would be an understatement... I came across this site very recently and felt that I had to comment on the brilliant service and outcome of my Wavefront Lasik carried out over three years ago at Accuvision. My original prescription was -6.00 and -6.50. Now my sight is better than 20/20. Remarkable when you think about it. There's been no looking back for me. I believe that Accuvision were the first clinic to routinely carry out wavefront treatments in the UK. If you are serious about getting your eyes lasered trust them to a clinic that excels. For 25 years I had to wear thick uncomfortable glasses for a prescription of +6.00 r/e +7.00 l/e with severe astigmatism and a very lazy l/e, so as many of you out there will know the dream of having to never wear glasses seemed unrealistic. I had been refused laser treatment twice before when I was growing up as my prescription was said to be too high. I thought about the procedure for a long time and checked clinics in the UK and the States. Although it is true that you will find the procedure cheaper elsewhere, the standard of service is second to none. I had been considering lasik eye treatment for quite some time. and had spoken to a few eye treatment centers But it was only after visiting the accuvision centre in New King's Road Chelsea That I decided to go ahead. My consultation and examination a week before the operation on the 17th February 2005 was about 1 hour and answered all my questions including some silly ones. it was explained to me that as mine was an age related condition that I would still a need glasses for reading. But it would release me from having to wear glasses all the time. the results are that I now have 20 20 Vision which is astonishing when you consider that I am 61 years old and have worn glasses for the pa ...  More...

I have had glasses since childhood. My prescription was -6.5 in both eyes. I was very aprehensive about laser eye surgery, however a few of my friends who had their surgery at Accuvision finally convinced me to go for a consultation. I have to say I was very nervous on the day of the surgery, but my fears were totally unfounded. All I felt was a slight discomfort for a couple of hours after surgery, which took less than 15 minutes. The next day I had 20/20 vision- no more glasses. A big THANK YOU to all the staff at Accuvision for transforming my life!!  More...

I have worn glasses since childhood with a prescription of 2.25 and 4.0. I hated going indoors and experiencing the 'steaming up' effect and having to take my glasses off to do contact sports. The results of my surgery are excellent! I had 20/20 vision the day after surgery and it may get even better after my eyes have had some more time to heal. The process was unpleasant but not painful and the staff were very thorough and professional. I wake up in the morning and I can read the alarm clock; I can go swimming and do contact sports and see what I am doing. I feel liberated. Money well spent.  More...

I HAD WORN GLASSES FROM THE AGE OF 12, I HATED WEARING THEM. IN ADULT LIFE I BECAME A SOCIAL MOTORBIKE RIDER WHICH WAS SOMETIMES DIFFICULT WITH WEARING GLASSES, IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WEARING A HELMET AND TRYING TO KEEP MY GLASSES ON STRAIGHT. I STARTED WEARING CONTACT LENSES BUT WITH MY TRADE AS AN ELECTRICIAN I FOUND THIS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF THE DUSTY ENVIRONMENT. AFTER YEARS OF PUTTING UP WITH EITHER GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES I DECIDED TO LOOK INTO LASER EYE SURGERY. I ENQUIRED AT OPTIMAX AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO OFFER ME LASER SURGERY BUT OFFERED PERMANENT IMPLANTABLE CONTACT LENSES BECAUSE OF MY PRESCRIPTION, WHICH WAS +4 AND +4.25 WITH ASTIGMATISM. I DID NOT WANT TO HAVE IMPLAN ...  More...

I cannot sing the praises of the Doctors and staff at Accuvision highly enough. I wish also to thank Lasik-eyes. I had been considering laser surgery for years but it was only after contacting Accuvision that I felt confident enough to go ahead with the procedure. Accuvision's 'state of the art' technology and the patience of their staff, as I asked hundreds of questions, was commendable. My prescription was –5.5 in both eyes, I’m 25 years old and I had worn glasses since I was 13. I had areas of concern when I first spoke to Accuvision. The main questions were, would be able to see as well after surgery as I did with my lenses, and would I need glasses in the future. Th ...  More...

So far the results have been fantastic! I had the surgery on Monday 17th January 05 and the whole experience from the initial consultation in December 04 through to the surgery itself couldn't have been handled in a more professional and caring manner. At all stages you are kept fully informed of everything going on around you/happening to you. I was always put at ease either by Vikesh or Mike or any other member of the support team. I noticed an immediate difference in my long sighted vision (I was short sighted), but experienced some blurriness in my short sighted vision, which I had been warned of in advance. Also some blurring on lights/traffic lights, but this is to be expe ...  More...

My perscription was not very high -2 and -2.5 but I wanted to do the treatement to make my life easier. Travelling all the time and going out was often uncomfortable due to the contact lenses. I had the surgery in October 2004 and everything has been perfect so far. During the consultation I was told everything I needed to know so when the time came for the operation I felt confident that all will be fine. I have to admit that the first 4 hours after the surgery I got a bit scared because my eyes were so watery and the stinging didn't let me relax. After the first night however everything was even smoother. I trying to be careful when I was out the first couple of days so that nothing wo ...  More...

Its been 2 and a half years since my Wavefront-Guided laser op. I was -3 in both eyes. I had a terrible first 3 months while my eyes settled to the dryness factors. One day I would have 20/10 vision and the next I would hardly be able to read the print on my screen with my face 5 inches from it – incredibly frustrating, since you obviously can’t get glasses to aid you when the prescription changes everyday. However week by week this improved greatly. A lot was due to the fact I tend to sleep with my eyes ever so slightly open. They settled down to 20/20. Although I haven’t had them tested for 2 years, I am confident, because I am able to stand back from the crowd (by at least 4 yards) ...  More...

Having had to wear varifocals for as many years as I can remember, the idea of never having to wear them anymore seemed to me a lot to ask. I made enquiries to ultralase but after an examination they said they did not have the eqipment to perform the surgery. This was not what I wanted to hear but I went away thinking that was the end of the matter and that I would have to wear glasses forever. Then about a year later I saw an advertisement for Accuvision showing results for someone with a prescription of +8.0 and mine were +4.5. I telephoned them and was invited in for an eye test and they were confident that I would be suitable for the treatment. Because my prescription was high I was told ...  More...

My eyes were originally approx -6.75 (right) and -5.5. Originally operated on in August 2004 (Wavefront) and the initial results were VERY poor. After one month they had improved alot..but only to -0.75/+0.75 left and right -0.75. I was after having them redone, but I knew I would have to wait slightly longer anyway for a re-op. 2 months later my eyes had not changed more and they re-operated. Before the 2nd op I could go about my daily business just fine and was feeling reasonably happy viewing the world - just slightly short sighted, strong second image in my weaker eye (with wavefront surely this should never happen?!) , but I had no haze and low light levels were fine. After the se ...  More...

It's now 2 1/2 years since my wavefront guided lasik with accuvission and about 1 1/2 years since my last review on this site. To recap I had +6.5 long sight & it took over a year for my eyes to settle down. I still have 20/20 vision within the conditions of an optition - however they do notice my astigmatism which Accuvision said they sorted out. I recently failed a driving test on not being able to read the number plate. My vision is poor in dim lighting, in all but the most overcast days I need sunglasses. My partner thinks it's the worst £3k I ever spent! However I still feel liberated by not wearing glasses, sunglasses I can cope with (that's what they're for!) & l ...  More...
