James is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He qualified from Cambridge University in 1995 before embarking on his ophthalmology training in Yorkshire. Prior to his consultant appointment he completed specialist training in corneal and refractive surgery at the prestigious Lions Eye Institute in Australia and at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

He has already performed over 2000 laser eye surgery and refractive procedures. He enjoys offering the full range of anterior segment procedures from corneal transplantation through to lens exchange with the latest multifocal lens implants and laser eye surgery.
When not at work, Mr Ball's other passions include spending time with his young family, playing the cello, golf and skiing.

    I had LASIK surgery in both eyes in June 2010. I found Mr Ball friendly and professional throughout the whole process from initial consultation, through surgery and follow up checks. The results of the surgery were brilliant with excellent vision in both eyes. I had the surgery on Friday afternoon and was given the all clear to drive the following day. It could not have gone any better. I would recommend Mr Ball to anyone, in fact I already have in that a friend has been for a consultation having seen the difference it has made to me. More...
