Mr Wevill completed his undergraduate medical and postgraduate ophthalmic degrees at the University of Cape Town. He was Consultant Ophthalmologist at Tygerberg Academic Hospital and Head of the Glaucoma Clinic. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1995, and subsequently underwent training in refractive surgery. He attends and presents at international ophthalmic surgery congresses and is actively involved in ophthalmic research. His other surgical skills include cataract and glaucoma surgery, and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. Mr Wevill joined Ultralase in 2004 and has performed over 9,700 laser eye surgery procedures.
