Advanced Control Eyetracker from Bausch & Lomb

Bausch and Lomb Zyoptix Platform now introduces the Advanced Control Eye Tracker also known as ACE ! This eye tracker is the FIRST of its kind that follows the eye using iris recognition dynamically (actively) in ALL directions including ROTATION. The existing rotational eye tracker equiped on all modern Zyoptix lasers has the capability of following eye movements actively in all directions except Rotation which it only corrects for at the commencement of the procedure. The new eyetracker actively follows and will compensate if for instance the head rotates. Additionally the eye tracker can be used on Aspheric, Tissue Savings and Wavefront algorithms. Prior to ACE, iris recognition tracking could only be used on the wavefront algorithm. The Advanced Control Eye Tracker is another world first for Bausch and Lomb.

Centre for Sight will perform IntraLASIK with Zyoptix and ACE for the first time in the UK on Monday Nov 5th 2007. “ The introduction of even more sophisticated eye tracking technology will ensure far more accurate delivery of laser treatment and in turn should increase accuracy improving outcomes further. Outcomes are already excellent, however the margin of error will be narrowed which in turn should result in better chances of improved visual quality, accuracy of astigmatic correction and a further reduction of enhancements which is already low at 1% in our hands” commented Mr Sheraz Daya, Medical Director at Centre for Sight.
