I had bilateral LASEK under Dr Huda Flayeh on March 18th. I choose LASEK over LASIK due to my low prescription (-1.5) and the lower risk under lasek of long term complications compared to LASIK. Overall my experience is very positive - I knew that lasek is more uncomfortable than lasik, and was prepared for a week or so not being able to do much. As it turns out, the proceedure itself went fine although I found it a bt uncomfortable, and my eyes were not able to do much until the Friday. Bright lights were uncomfortable for the first few days, and my eyes were blurry some of the time. However the eyes really started clearing up by the friday and have cleared up enough that I can use a computer by sunday again. I do not have to go to work tomorrow which I am glad of as I think my eyes would not be ready for a full day at a computer yet.

It was/is pretty amazing to see clearly without glasses and I have found it well worth it. Dr Flayeh was very professional and helpful. One thing I was a bit surprised about was the that the initial examination was carried out by a different person than would carry out the proceedure (though on the day of the op you have some time before the op to discuss with the surgeon). Still I had heard good things about Dr Flayeh and I am pleased with the results. I go in on Tuesday to get the bandage contacts out and will post again when I know my new prescription.

    Definitely worth it!
